Normally though, since I'm 90% freeway, I get around 30mpg @ 72-75. Had the car for 4500 miles. Hopefully, it'll get a little better. Haven't noticed any difference w/ TRD springs or synthetic oil.

Monkeydonot - do you have an auto or manual tranny? My best tank for combined driving was 28.5 mpg with an auto. Since fuel prices are so high I have tried to slow down, limit the jack rabbit starts, full throttle passes, etc.. Before that I was getting 23-24 mpg.

Here is my records of my last fill-ups... I am noting any changes I do to see if there is an increase with each one. My next one is when my AFE dry flow filter comes in, then I will try the next octane up in gas just to see if there is any improvement and if the extra dollar or so it will cost me is worth it ;)
We will see though, any bit helps.

With 5 lights, it would probably only take 10 more minutes. :D

I only average about 22/23 mpg, but it's 90-95% city and city-like driving, not to mention the countless minutes I drive around parking lots searching for a space. Maybe an hour a week of cruising around 5 mph eating gas.
Also my car was in the shop for about 25 days. They only added a few miles but somehow used up a fair amount of gas.
I've only got about 1000 miles on my car so it's just breaking or still being broken in. Hopefully when I move in a couple months there a reduced city driving and a better MPG.

I dont understand where all these low numbers are coming from. With my 5 speed, all stock, at 70mph with cruise control it easily gets 30mpg, in warm weather its more like 31-33. Driving in the city the lowest i get is about 27. I have 25k miles on the car already, but I've never ever gotten below 27mpg on a tank.
I find that cruise control helps a lot and any time i go down a hill I coast like crazy. Also, 90% of my shifts are made between 2000-2500RPM's.

Since changing my oil to Mobil 1 synthetic 0W-20 and replacing my stock (very restrictive, looks like it's made out of pressed cardboard) air filter with an aftermarket one, I've seen my combined mpg go up around 3-4 mpg. I do a lot of city driving, so i'm only around 27mpg, but that's not too bad. Definitely worth it. I also try to shift around 3000-3500 rpm whenever possible as well.

d-unit get the tenzo CAI and put an K&N cone on it and your set!! that would be the best imo...or get the drop in filter for the stock box and do that free mod to it...where you put the opening of the lower tube in the lower grille...

I'm on my 2nd tank with my xB, I averaged 21 mpg on the first tank, that was mostly city driving, and when I say city I mean Chicago were I do a distance of 5 miles in 40 minutes. I was able to do an 8 mile stretch on the highway today were I averaged above 40 mpg going between 52-58 mph, I was very impressed with that. That helped to bump up my overall average to 25 mpg for the 1st quarter tank.
