I just got back from a trip to Florida and my worst mileage was 28.22 mpg with the A/C blasting and four people in the car(add in the cargo and I'd say about 800 lbs total). My best was 31.28mpg. I've only had my XB for 10 days now and have 1714 miles on it and have averaged 30.018 mpg on six fillups. Last Saturday, I had 3 miles on her...man how fast they grow up

In the next couple of weeks I'll have a better feel for how it does with my daily commute to work.

Just returned from a 2 day trip of 573 round trip miles. My Scion xB2 has 7900 miles on it. Driving primarily freeway, driving the legal speeds with cruise control used. The automatic dash mileage guage showed an average for the trip of 32.0 mpg. The pencil check was 30.35 mpg. It has been increasingly better as more mileage is on the car.

21 to 23 mpg...like clockwork. But I have 18s that are just a tid bit less than 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than stock. So it is off, but which way?

1/2" smaller than stock means your car is traveling less distance than your odometer reads...so not only are you getting worse mileage than your calculations, but you're putting more mileage on the odometer than you're actually traveling.

Better to go a bit larger.

This is such bull$H!T gas keeps on going up every day by like $0.10 which is $1 for every 10 gallons.

As a college student at 18 yrs old making $10/hr, after taxes more like 8 bucks....these damn gas prices are killing me.
Last summer is was 2 bucks cheaper per gallon to fill up.

seriously if this keeps up i might have to buy a yaris....i really dont want to get rid of my xb2

At 18 years old, as a college student, I couldn't afford a car or insurance, let alone worry about gas prices; and that was 25 years ago. (BTW, I made $3.75/hr.) I rode a bike to school and work. Quit your ____in' and moanin' and be glad you have a car at all (and a new one at that). Also, how much are reliable cars and gas in the former USSR?

Don't get me wrong, not hating on you at all, but sometimes we need another perspective to appreciate what we have.

I definetly like the XB2 hands down. But id kill for one thats a hybrid version. I mean if you took out the spare wheel you could stuff a bunch of batteries underneath.

Please SCION make a hybrid version!!

Mileage was definitely not the most important factor in my car decision. The most important factor was that I liked her and thought she was pretty I don't generally make impulsive decisions, but I made an exception with my baby. Gas should've been my concern (since I drive 35 minutes one way to work) but it wasn't.

My first car is my '04 WRX hehe. I didn't get my license until I was 24. I saved up for years to be able to get what I wanted so at least it wasn't handed to me.

WOW! I was a little worried about getting flamed for that last one.
I sure am glad you all took it the right way, the way I intended.
Thanks borninussr.

The $750 car I had in high school got 6mpg, so I'm super happy with a 26.4mpg city/hwy average over the first 16k miles. :D
