gt1948, they ordered the part yesterday and it has not arrive yet. Do you know if your dealership order a new part or did they just glue it back?

Told me it was a clip missing or damaged......
From the description there is supposed to be a clip there.....he could have been blowing smoke.

While I was waiting they had a Teal like mine come in for sale, I looked it over and it had the same problem. pointed it out to them.

Yup, sounds like it may turn into a TSB now with 3 or 4 having this problem already

They used a clip to repair mine. Would be interested to know how the rest of you fare on this minor cosmetic screw up....

Also...
The plate covering tthe auto shift handle doesnt fit properly either, They ordered the new access panel. The one the shifter fits through....

and BTW....
When I picked up my car with the updated alloy wheels, two of the center hubs were missing!!!!
The dealer ordered them, but I decided to call Scion 's toll free number. The hubs were delivered this morning UPS 2nd day air. Two hubs and some surprise goodies were in the box.

Nice to get that kind of custermer service

I have try to fix it, but the dealership told me that no dealerships in the US have the part. It will take them couple of week to get in it.

Default Clips didnt work

Did you get the dealer to fix it? My clip fix didnt last long so I am going back. Can you give me any parts they replaced or what they did so I can pass on to my dealer?
Thanks

gt1948,

They just received the part this past Friday. I'm planning to take my car in tomorrow to have it fix. I will keep you posted. I hope they have ordered the right part.

I'm curious what the "fix" is too, i have one (on drivers side) that's peeling up a bit too.. I just have to find the time to get to the dealer to get them to take a look at it.

They replaced the part for me today. It looks better now. The part is called the windshield cowl cover.

About this "windshield cowl cover" issue, is everyone getting it resolved at dealerships? My xB2 also shows this minor cosmetic issue on the driver side only.

This morning I went back to the dealer and asked, and was told it's "within factory spec" and they claimed to know no fix from the factory. (At least they didn't say it was a feature. ) Is there a technical service bulletin on this? I looked at their floor model and it also was starting to peel off a bit on the driver's side.

I had the driver's side changed, but the new one looked no different. Guess I will wait for the TSB.

Mine has the same problem now although it looks more like the plastic is damaged on mine rather than just not attached.

Default new cowling fixed problem

Well after weeks of waiting they replaced the cowling shown in the pic. The service rep said they are sending a report on it since several of the cars they got in had the same defect.
They replace the cowling entirely on mine. fits very snug now.

Happy Camper

Got 31 mpg on my trip to thee Smokies. A/C on all the time.
