Sleeping in the 2012 xB?
Hi everyone
Hubby and I are looking at buying a new xB. Sadly we're not owners yet. However we like to do the occasional overnight trip up to the mountains and nearby lakes and I have some questions.
Do the back seats actually unclip out completely if necessary?
Is there enough room in the back to be able to sleep for a night. My hubby is 5'11' and I'm 5'6''. I've seen a couple of pix here of the front seats all the way down and the back seats down and looks like it might be possible.
Unfortunately there's not one in stock with 100 miles of us or else I'd be all over it with a measuring tape and throwing hubby in the back to test
Any info or measurements will be amazingly gratefully appreciated.
TIA

The front seats dont fold all the way down and the rear seats dont unclip, you have to unbolt them to remove. I will tell you that by moving the front seats up and folding the rear seats down, you can lay down inside. Ive tried it and im 5'8". Your hubby might not be too comfortable though.

If you remove the headrests on the front seats, you can fold the front seats ALL the way down to turn the back seat into a "lounge" type chair.
It's extremely comfortable, and I have slept in the xB multiple times when out of State shooting track days.
EDIT: sleep mode
Yes, my interior is filthy. I'm an Art major, leave me alone

I'm your husband's height, and laying down in the back is a little uncomfortable. But then again, I have back problems, so that might contribute to my opinion.
At my height, it is doable. You'll probably want to lay out some kind of cushion though because the plastic isn't comfortable.

The sleep mode/lounge chair mode is a seat configuration marketed as a feature in Japan for the Rumion. But how'd you do that? Did you force it down? Mine stops short and doesn't sit flush with the rear seat cushion.

I just pull the rear seat cushion back gently while pressing down on the back of the front seat(and keeping the front seat's recline handle pulled). It goes in with a little phenagling, but isn't too difficult.
It's a godsend on road trips.
