Default Some pics of my new Stingray metallic with some small mods.

I didn't see a "Calling all Stingray metallics" thread so I decided to throw up a couple of pics of my new xB2 here. If there is a thread for Stingray metallics, mods feel free to move. I don't have a ton of money and unfortunately am not really able to get crazy with modifications like many here in the forums. Through saving and using some cash I got for my birthday I was able to at least get some cheap rims, a spoiler, and a bumper overlay. Once again, nothing fancy, but i'm pretty proud of being an xB2 owner after driving an 06 around for the last few years and thought i'd share.

Dave

that car looks good!

I would say you should lurk around the for sale forum and see if you can grab yourself some lowering springs for it!

A couple of people have suggested lowering. The only problem is that usually every week my band has out of town shows and I need to pack the back with all of my drums, drum rack, cymbals, and hardware, our merch box, and one of our guitarist's half stack cabinets. Therefore I need to make sure that the car rides the same suspension wise and am afraid that lowering would be a problem as far as ride integrity would be concerned with all that weight in the back.

Looks as you've got it right now. Don't change anything else. Good looking wheels.

I got the overlay from Angel at Synthetic Designs. www.syntheticdesigns.com

I went with 16" rims as I wanted to make full use of the brand new tires that were on the car as well as retaining the feel of the vehichle's original ride. As far as the tint, i'm not real sure, I just asked the guy to match the factory shade on the rest of the car.

Good looking ride. I like the overlay too. Was that a difficult install?

The install wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, but patience and a hair dryer is a must. As long as you keep the back of the overlay and your bumper absolutely soaked with a water/detergent solution for placement during application, the install should be a breeze. Once you start squegeeing the water out, just make sure to keep the hair dryer constantly moving while smoothing the wrinkles out. Mine came with pretty detailed installation instructions and ended up being a fairly easy install.

No, I decided on going with a Matte Black vinyl overlay as I wasn't sure if I wanted it to be permanent or not. Not to mention the vinyl was $125.00 cheaper than painting.
