Default Someone broke into my car today...

I was one of the last people leaving church. When I pressed the unlock button on my alarm it made an extra chirp signaling that the alarm had gone off. I walk around the car to inspect for damage and see the broken front passenger window. :-( It was raining the whole day, so everything on that side of the car is soaked.

The good part
Nothing was stolen. Laptop under the drivers seat, Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, iPod, everything was untouched. My alarm worked!!

Now, how much does one of these windows cost?

Glad to hear that nothing was stolen!! But sucks that the interior is soaked and a broken window, but hey, at least that's cheaper than a lot of your stuff gettin stolen

make sure to clean up the water or you will have one nasty mold mess to clean up and I am very sorry to hear about your car. The front windows I believe are like $150

With a lot of auto insurance policies, auto glass is covered 100% with no deductible. Find out before buying a new window.

Same thing happened to me at my old place. They saw my iphone's power cable sitting inside and they probably thought I had something in my car. They busted one of the front windows with a freakin rock.

Make sure to hit up a couple Junk Yards. You can get the Window replacement cheaper there. I got my front side passenger window replaced for $75 with installation.
Dealership quoted me $180+ for the window alone. Installation extra.

Found the glass for $83. Put it in myself, not very difficult. The actual "putting it in" only took about 5 minutes. The rest was cleanup.

WOW! And it happened at your church? That's why they have people walking our lot durring services. Sad but true.

I was wondering....were the windows tinted? If yes, then did it help contain the glass like it should? VERY sorry to hear that happened.

it could have been a break in or it could have been a freak accident or something that just broke the window. lucky nothing was stolen. good job on the replacement.

@RC-PILOT: At church, but a couple hours after the service had ended. About the window tint - I don't have any, because I live in CA and had trouble with the cops with just 50% tint. I think that the tint film would have held the glass together fairly well though.

@draxcaliber: I was starting to think that it was a freak accident as well, but when I started cleaning everything up on Monday I saw some marks near the deck where they tried using a screw driver to pry it out.
