I test drove the automatic xB today, and I fell in love.

For I guess a non luxury car, it rides incredibly smooth. it was almost as smooth as my fathers 04 acura RL. I didnt seem to have any blind spot issues as you guys say, but maybe I just wasnt paying as much attention to parrallel parking because i was so enamored by the Interrior. It felt as if I was 4'2 in that car.

As for the rest of the interrior, the radio wheel control, I have always felt, should be standard throughout the car industry as I have had it on my acura. And I can see why people get so giddy when scion put it on the xB. the underseat storage was a great idea by Scion! Especially for a college student like myself. I can loose and forget my books in there without a problem now! The trunk storage was not too small yet not too big. Maybe in better words, Perfect! The one thing that I wish scion would have done was made the seats electronically controlled, as I love that feature but its not a deal breaker.

Overall, I am looking at every plausible option to buy this car. I heart it.

Default XB manual test drive

I did the test drive yesterday in the Natuical Blue XB. I just love the manual. I have to agree with the first post it did feel like a short shifter compared to my tC. Ride was smooth and very quite. Now I just have to see what kind of deal scion- AkA my brother is going to give me trading in my 05 tC. Still battling giving up my sunroof

Do you have a source for this information? I'd like to take a look at it.

His point is that the only thing shared between these three vehicles is the engine.

It has been stated in nearly every article/ review of the 2008 xB that these vehicles share same engine. That is the 2AZ-FE engine. The transmission (for sure the auto and I believe the manual too) and everything else is different. I have not seen anything identifying any other 2008 xB parts that are shared with the tC, Camry or RAV4.

If there is an upgrade that I would love to see is the seats upgraded.

I am an armrest leaner. It will probably be my first after market modification.

Well, the chassis/interior/suspension is different from the tC.

The engine is the same, but has electric power steering and different tuning, so it is a little bit different.

I believe both transmissions are shared except that the xB has a manumatic function (simple programming thing).

The final drive for the manual transmission is the same as the tC, but shorter than the one in the Camry.

All in all, the only part that is COMPLETELY the same as the tC is the manual transmission.

Source is the Car and Driver first drive...they (and others) have said it is based on the Auris platform, the tC is based on the Avensis.

There is an armrest on the driver seat, you just have to fold it down.

The armrest is small and thin it did not feel right the first thing I did was put it up out of the way. I am also looking foward to driving the auto, how do you guys and gals like the auto shifter? I just drove a 2007 Nissan Altma 2.5 with the auto stick it was great, very nice car for the money btw.

The auto is nice. It shifts well. The moving it left and right to get to the gear is weird. I have a difficult time telling what mode it is in by looking at the shifter itself. But that's what the display is for ;D
