Default Third Annual, "Box the Dragon", 2012

After contacting Adam about leading the effort again, he said that it didn't look good. So 1DERBOX, suggested we put it out and see how many are interested in doing it anyway. It has always been the first weekend in August. This is a weekend of getting together and cruising the "Tail of the Dragon", between Tn. and N.C. Usually photo shoots at Fontana Dam, and on other end by the river. Let us know what you think.

I'm planning on going again this year, but after installing the 5 speed, lsd and ksports, I won't be "cruising" :D

I know my 1st Gen box handled the Dragon quit well. Haven't taken the 2nd Gen yet.

Now looking at 8, possibly 9 boxes. First weekend in August. Some are looking to stay at Fontana Resort at campground or cabins. Others are looking to stay at area motels. Killjoy is playing with video this year. Wonder how that would turn out. Whole herd of boxes.

Dang, I wish I could make this! I've run The Dragon twice on an '86 Suzuki Katana with a GSXR block in my young and foolish roadracing days. I'm on the wrong end of TN and typically at the Brickyard400 that weekend but, since I've not outgrown foolish completely and fun never, I'll keep that opportunity in mind for my new Box obsession.

Anybody that likes twisties, this is your quintessential wet dream run.

We usuall all meet up at the restaurant at Fontana Village Friday evening for a meet and greet. Eat dinner and discuss activities for the weekend. Some make a Dragon run that evening. Last year 1DERBOX, Eric and I had our underbody lights going which attracted locals and of course the kids. Saturday had group photos at Fontana Dam. Stopped at Deels Gap Store and met couple other box owners. Cruised the dragon and had couple more photo shoots down by the water. Most of us went on the Ghost Tour that night.

Interest continues to grow. Hope to see those who desire to come have a try at the Tail of the Dragon, on August 3-5. Several of us will be staying at the Tuskeegee Motel. Rooms are plain, but clean and cheap. Hope to see you all there.

Default Third Annual, "Box the Dragon"

Only two more weeks to go. What do you think of this as a giveaway. Not an artist, just trying to think of something special. 1st Gen XB. Still trying to perfect a panel for 2nd Gen.

We had a blast. Went across the Dragon Friday. Twice Saturday, Even went across the Parkway to Townsend and back, then again Sunday. Had my camcorder looking through windshield at the others. Def need to play with cam more. Video was OK but not great. Law enforcement was out as usual, so we had to behave ourselves. But the 1st and 2nd gen box's do handle well. First trip in my 2nd gen. Thanks to all who came. Those of you who didn't, missed out on the fun. Congratulations to Neil for winning the Box the Dragon underhood panel. I also handed out chrome Dragons to everyone to put on their cars. Deb handed out some cool dogtags with Dragons on them and Russ gave away some cool XB toys that I havent seen before. Eric had some cool 2012 Dragon decals for us as well. And Neil and Adam did great work on the awsome shirts. Now to plan for BITS.
