I think the "VSC Off" switch is provided primarily so that you can turn it off when your wheel(s) get stuck in snow/mud, in which case VSC can get in the way of getting it unstuck. I read something about that in the manual.

Cool. I too think VSC is a great technology that's genuinely useful. And there is nothing like a personal testimonial based on real life event. Thanks for sharing your experience. For one I'm glad that my xB comes with it...
