Default wait times for xB

whats up guys. new member here. so we ordered our xB about 7 weeks ago. they initially told us 6 weeks, and now they are saying an additional 3-4 weeks. this is nuts right? the car is a bone-stock silver 5-mt, no additional options or anything like that.

any of ya'll have an idea as to what time the next shipment is coming into newark? feels like the dealer is not being straight with us.

thank you

I don't know any details for your area, but the ratio of AT to manuals is pretty heavily leaning toward the AT's. That may be one reason. I suspect if you were looking for an automatic it might be a shorter time. Just speculation on my part.

You could do what I did. My two local dealers told me 6 and 8 weeks to get me an automatic silver. They just said that's the way it is. They did not seem like they cared whether I bought one or not.
I checked the Internet, located one, called to verify they had it, 2 days after the local dealers gave me their times I drove about 3 hours west, bought it and drove it home that day.

Into instant gratification eh roX? lol
roX has it right, a little calling around will do you well if you're in that much of a rush. 10-11 weeks is waaay too much lead time for my taste!

Absolutely!

When I know what I want and know I only have to take a nice Saturday drive to get it, it's a done deal. :D

I know that here in Utah there are at least 5 people at every dealership waiting for the Super White. I had to wait about two weeks for my MT Black Sand Pearl. I remember when I got my '06 PW there was a wait, but I got lucky because the guy that had ordered it, ended up backing out of the deal. Mine will be here next Tuesday! Can't wait. I had to go down to the dealership today and drive the one they had down there just to curb my cravings. D@mn I love that car!

It has been 3 weeks to the day for my NBM 5-speed to get here and still no word yet. I am getting really antsy. Is it bad to buy mods for something you don't even have yet? HAHA

Waited a week for a dealer trade but ended up with another color (silver) that was on the lot...sort of... silver AT those a salesman ordered for himself and the sales manager bumper him and gave it to me. There is a silver MT on the lot here with 1 mile on it, so come out to Oregon and buy it

Even I might have a hard time going that far. lol

One tip for searching the Internet for an xB. Many dealers do not show new inventory on their Scion page. Search for the dealers Toyota page and you are much more likely to find their new Scion inventory listed.

An example is Smart Scion in Madison, WI. Nada on their Scion page. Smart Toyota however shows six 2008 xB's available.

Last night I traded my car in and finalized the deal, but my car isn't even here yet. I'm still driving my '06 PW xB, but it's legally not mine.

I'm on the same boat as you. Waited 7 weeks for the xB and still waiting... Where the heck is the port located at Newark? I want to go there physically and check it out the cars there.

I did that for previous cars, especially my VW. I purchased quite a few things in group buys or local shows, etc. to get them at a good deal and amassed mods instead of having to do one big "lump sum". I found it also eased the pain of not having the vehicle and kept my interest up on it.
