on the 2010 xb in the center console there is a space between the armrest and the cupholder. at the top its square and at the bottom it has an oval shape like something is suppose to fit in there. can anyone tell me what that space is for ? i call the dealer parts dept and they have no clue. i looked on ebay and found nothing.

I do agree, its a fairly odd use of space. I haven't determined a definite use, but like the others my iPod and work parking structure card sit there.

I have a tire gauge in the oval part and a parking permit in the square part. I thought it was for a juice box at first.

Barbecue sauce. Keep your chickie nuggets in the spot up to the left of the steering wheel, reach over with the right hand, grab a chickie nugget, dip in the BBQ sauce in the aforementioned oddball spot, munch, shift, vroooom.
Or even french fries and ketchup. However, you'll have to individually squeeze ketchup into the oddball spot. This takes time for fat kids on the run.

I can't speak for anyone else, but mine is specifically for my garage door remote.

Anything that is roughly the same size/shape as the opening goes in there.

I don't think that space was meant for anything specific.

LOL that's a great idea since I'm always eating in my car. Maybe I can do something like the Dodge Caliber and get a mini refrigerator built into that tiny small pocket. Then I can keep exactly one chicken nugget fresh and preserved over the course of a few weeks.
