Default Whoops, I traded my xb for an insight

52mpg, little under 300 miles traveled at half a tank of gas. Nice handling, wwwaaaayyyy more power than the prius. Love the oem lighting as is, the prius I thought had an electrical issue. Knee in way of shifter on the prius, now the steering wheel blocks the speedopod.

OMG...what a fail...hybrids are garbage dude. seriously...it isn't that it is a honda, it is just that unless you only commute in stock and go traffic, those things are not worth it...

besides, have you ever heard what a hybrid sounds like when it drives by? it goes "IIIII'MMMMMMMMM GAAAAAYYYYY" :lmao: i love that joke.

but seriously...where is the emoticon for projectile vomiting?

From what I have read, it doesn't have any more power than the Prius, but it is a bit smaller and possibly a tad quicker....not quite as good gas mileage wise as well....but it is also less expensive.

Neither have I found the difference between this and prius... But I kinda like the aggressiveness on the front.

And theres the same little tinted window below the hatch glass so that you can check if you've accidentally run over someone cuz the car is so quiet..

I've drove prius and couldn't resist the slowness. Put some stickers to make it go faster...

Please tell me you're going to take off that "hybrid" thing off of the windshield?

As for the actual car, I just hope you do a lot of stop and go driving (as mentioned) to really make it worth it.

man, whoops is an understatement, how do you accidentally trade in a perfectly good xb for a friggan insight? i don't think car dealerships should be able to sell vehicles to those impaired by drugs or alcohol.

here's my 2 cents...LOL.... honestly... to each their own.. that is pretty kick@ss gas mileage....but I was extremely bummed how similar they made the body look to a Prius... I was a total fan of the old orig. Insights...the 2 seater...70mpg little doobie. ... if they came back out with the 2 seater... I'd have to say I'd be temped. They were so fugly to me they almost turned kinda cool looking in a weird way :D

if you wanted good MPG's you should have just gotten a volkswagen TDI. Its cool, sounds good, and has power.

clarkson has spoken...

...and clarkson would say what, exactly, about an xB????
I think the guy is very entertaining, but he absolutely hates Toyota. . .

Man, I as well personally dislike the Insight, but why are you ripping on this poor dude's new purchase. Totally unnecessary.

And regarding diesels, they are awesome. But if you really love them, you need to keep quiet. Diesel is a by-product of the production of gasoline, and much less diesel is produced from crude than gasoline. As it is now, unleaded has a far higher demand than diesel. But if you diesel cry-baby's keep crying and constantly belittling hybrids, maybe you'll get your wish. Maybe the whole world will convert to diesel, and the price of a gallon of diesel will skyrocket to $1000/gallon. If you really like diesels, keep it to yourself and don't ruin it for the rest of diesel lovers.

hey, clarkson did do a review about the xb already, well, technically the daihatsu materia, which is in many ways similar to the xb, when he compared it to the ascari a10. he complimented it on fuel mileage and ergonotics, and comfort and quietness etc. so he does like the scion xb by extention! lol.

but seriously, why go from an xa, to a 2nd gen xb, to an insightin like under a year? whatever possible fuel savings you could have made goes out the window with depreciation of the trade-in and possible change in payments, ontop of the increased cost of a hybrid over a conventional car.

No offense taken from drx, Ive meet him in DE at a dyno show. If he had stayed around he would of seen my big bad truck pulled a whopping 167 hp 208 torque. I started to get some knocking of the engine and some blower rattle and traded it with the scion for the insight. I wrecked my scion a few months ago and it was never the same. I got trade for both vehicles and 3 gs from my enployer. I let everything but the hids go.

Did I say the insight is 18 grand and change? I made in this deal. The last straw was the fact toy finanical would not refinance, just defer payment for 2 months, charge interest for each month til I paid that back.

I had a pay cut and need to lower my monthly expenses. Whats next than to trade 2 for 1 and get the payments from the start for what you need? Sure I may pay longer down the road, but I have own new and used cars, you pay about 300 a month on average for maintenance. I do mostly highway driving, some stop n go. Plus insurance is cheaper, nothing like getting 230 bucks back after prepaying for 6 months.

I had started my day with the Toy dealer, but they again were uninterested in selling me a prius with option 3 at sticker 23,5. After a quick drive by a few days later I visited the honda dealer next door to see what the insight was about and how it was affordable as the civic is 25 grand. I parked my truck up front so the toyota people can see it.

After 15 minutes of looking at the car on display, someone came out and offered a test drive. He said it looks like a prius, but thats all. Hes right, its a very peppy car with a huge tach, paddle shifters and a sport mode. THe tranny is a cvc, ever drive a nissan murano? Its like that. Only unusualness about the car is the green/blue glow as you drive efficiently or not, the drift of a few mph of the cruse control, engine dying at stop lights. It has a nice throaty sound and had a 6 grand red line. Comes with dunlop low resistance tires with MS rating.

The dealer offered free sodas, 2 years free car washes. The previous sales person promised me free car washes with my xa, but nothing was in writing and it was not true. Second with my xb, the two times I visited the shop, it was returned unwashed.

Half a tank 256 miles on 5.6 gallons. Thats mix of highway and city. Filled up to get a better reading this weekend with mostly hwy driving tonight and tomorrow.

I do miss the scion, but the fuel economy, financing and feeling of my car went away. Sure I miss my truck too, but got out of it before too much major went wrong. I was shocked my local junkyard had no tacomas of any year. I had assumed the v6 was common and easy to get if I sprayed my engine and blew it.

ack154, WHAT!!!! Havent you seen that episode of southpark about smug pollution? I had a print shop quote me 40 bucks for a tint strip that said that, I ended up making one myself. Sure I could of put HONDA up there, but from the front you can not tell its a hybrid, only the rear at that it looks like a crx or older gen insight.

Lastly, unlike the hondas I have driven into the shop at the tire store i use to work at, this one is roomy for the driver. Sure the rear is smaller, but my passengers seldom pay for fuel.

well, if your xb wasn't driving right, yeah, i guess i wouldn't want to be making payments on a newly crashed car that didn't drive right, didn't know that happened.

but i woulda gone for a subaru impreza wagon or outback or forester, i know they aren't as fuel efficient, but they really are a good vehicle if you need 1 car to do everything.

also, i think it is funny how clarkson talks specifically about men with beards buying them, and if you haven't seen cobb, he has alot of facial hair.

Great upgrade... It's always nice to go green IMO. I saw the Insight at Costco the other day and was totally diggin' it. Great buy man...
