you went with the wrong car if you do mostly highway. you should of got the jetta tdi. hybrids do really good for stop and go, but the jetta tdi does better for highway.

Congrats on the new Insight.
40-45 MPG feels good.

I need something bigger so the Prius would be my choice of hybrid.

I am not sure why you put whoops though. I thought I was going to read a post about a mistake.

i like the insight, but i just cant get over the mini-van look! i really hated the looks of the prius but the new 2010 looks sooooo much better, they did a great job of updating the looks and give it a much needed aggressive front! doesnt look so "___" anymore, lol

IMO, even though it's a ford... the new fusion hybrid (most likely advertised by where you respond) is the nicest hybrid sedan i've seen

Every review I've seen with the prius and insight always have the prius on top, better mileage, more power, slightly faster acceleration, better ride, the pruis won it all, except price. However, for the prius to be worth the extra couple thousands you'd have to keep it for many many many years to make up the gas mileage between the two, so cost wise, the insight won.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RPNcvm7Dvs There's one of the reviews, just so no one thinks I'm making anything up.

I miss both my scions, but I have come a long ways. I was previously blind for 23 years, in a wheelchair for 9 and recently as of last week had lasers seal up my bleeding ulcers in my stomach. I had two relatives die from this and I wanted to own a hybrid before I died, get rid of my tacoma and xb as it didnt drive right. I am exceeding 50mpg, heres proof.

In additional to the kick ___ fuel economy, my monthly payment is 100 less, my insurance is 400 less a year and I get 3gs from my job, 1.8 gs for refund of the xb extended warranty.

So, I have more money to pay other bills. My gas bill last month was 237 for my tacoma, which too was traded. I drove the xb off and on as it just did not drive right, but to carry my parents to their dr appoints.

Yes, I use to be a diesel fan, but diesel can be more than gas and both are heading back up. I know the jetta tdi could get upwards to 60mpg.

Drx is right, I have chest length hair I usually keep in a pony tail. Have not cut it since I have been out of the wheelchair. I have had a beard ever since I could grow one to hide my acme. Plus I do not have to shave daily. [/img]

The latest Motor Trend compares the two head to head, with the Insight coming out on top......also quicker to 60 and beyond.
Not to start a ____ing match or anything.

This huge tach has me urging to paint it primer grey, install a coffee can exhaust, fake hood scoop with fake vents along the side and install 12 inch of road lights behind the grill.

JK!!!!!! These dunlop ms low rolling resistant tires are a little slick and slide around on ramps.

i hate the tires on hybrid vehicles. oh, this car has low friction, or low resistance tires blah blah blah which sounds good and all when you word it like that, but usually don't don't refer to tires as having high or low friction or resistance, you talk about them having high or low TRACTION!

doesn't sound so appealing to be driving around on low traction tires now does it?

Marketing at its best? Most low rolling resistance tires were as wide as a bicycle tires, like my metro. Nothing like trying to find tires for 12 inch rims.

I think they used too much tire shine and put it all over the tire, not just the outside. I have yet to have the traction control or skid control come on, I use to trigger that daily with my xb.

I think it looks better than the Prius.. But then again, that's not saying much at all.. Congrats on trying to save the planet though.
