I've been wondering this for some time now . Why is it that the 2nd gen Scion tC comes with a subwoofer from Pioneer and the xB which is a larger car does not. Larger cars need that boom. In Japan, the Toyota Corolla Rumion has a 9 speaker sound system. (8 speakers 1 subwoofer), in America our 2nd gen xBs don't even come with a subwoofer what gives?
Here's something I watched on youtube about the Corolla Rumion, it's pretty cool imo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiYJPxIHaGQ

If you want bass, I doubt factory bass (whether from the non-subbed or factory subbed tC) will be enough, though if you think it'll be enough you can always snag one off the EE, and then sell it back on the EE to get money for your aftermarket setup.
I don't do much dancing in my car anyway, so my "1st gen" tC is all factory when it comes to the sound system.

What's up my fellow xB lovers thanks for the quick responses. When I say 2nd gen tC I mean the 2008+ tC models. They come with some small 6" sub, but it puts out good enough bass. I don't want too much bass, I'm not into that SPL stuff anymore, I just want something that does not take up much space. After conducting some research, I found some Bazooka sub that is modified to fit in the 2008+ Scion xB. It seems like a good deal, the only thing I dislike is that it has the Bazooka label on it. Oh well. Thanks once again.

Like many other accessories for the xB2, a rear mounted subwoofer is available. Take a look at TRDsparks "electronics" offerings:

It's a factory sub, so performance is compromised (just as with the OE HU and door drivers), but it's there and the price could definitely be worse (thank you, TRDsparks

Just as with the OE electronics, there are other possibilities, but that's your choice. It's available and provides OK basic performance. If you want more, go aftermarket and/or personal build
