window crack

Cracked windshield
I had an 05 xB and had a chip = repaired at no cost by my insurance co. as it did not require replacement
Then I had a HUGE crack which appeared out of nowhere!!! This required the entire windshield to be replaced and I did not have $0 comprehensive deductible.
I got an 08 xB in October 07 and just now discovered my first crack (still I did not have the $0 comprehensive deductible) so I have to have this windshield replaced.
I have had Safelite do the work on my 05 xB and they also replaced my driver's side rear passgenger door window when it was busted in by some thug. I had an issue with broken glass shards still down in the door rattling around and was not pleased so I requested a different tech come out and get as much of it out as possible, which they did to my satisfaction. I would recommend them and I will be going to see them tomorrow to have my 08 xB windshield replaced.
I now have $0 comprehensive deductible for the next window being broken/cracked!!!!

I have been lucky, I have had several windshields replaced with NON OEM glass with absolutely no problems. I do shop around so that I do not have to pay a deductable that my insurance charges (some now even give away free meals....thats meals with an s but I dont eat out at the restaurants they use much but I dont have to pay the deductable)
God bless

I work for large windshiel distrubtor in so cal, well riverside, I can get any loocal people the hook up on glass if you need it, I know the new xb has a windshield that cost about twice as much as the old xb, but I can still get you the hook up, about 100 or so or 2nd gen xb's for the glass, and around 60ish of the first gen xb's

p.s.- never go to safelight, they are the wal-marts of glass installers, they are a big customer of my companys and most of there work is sub-quality grade work, auto glass is an art to make it look clean, my advice is to find some that has been at there same shop the longest, and atleast 10 year experiance, otherwise you might get a glass installer bo-bo, with a cut dash or cowl, or scratched paint, or worse

when i traded my XB1 in for an XB2, i still had to drive my XB1 for two weeks cause mine wasn't in yet. I had had my XB1 for 78xxx miles in two and a half years and not one single rock chip, but two days after i ordered my Xb2 i pass a flatbed truck and get a huge, 2 inch 'chip' right in the middle of the driver's side
i was on my way to work, i called the insurance company, they told me who to call, i left my insurance card in the window, locked it up, and when i got off, it was A O K!
