I'm leaning toward White at the moment.

What like he should be talking to some "Mickey Mouse" Floridian instead.
The subject in this thread wasn't really colors, but I had an idea to get the advantage of white in the areas most often dirty and the nice look of a dark color too. My version of NBM on top and Super White on bottom over in the photochop topic.

I ordered BSP.
Options: EF, R7, G4, 6D, yv50, SW, V5,V4,YM10, YQ20, 42B, P4, SIR, YW60, WZ, HR.
I was told by my local dealer, a lot of the options I chose won't be available?
Does anyone know if this is true? What's up with that?
What options are available to choose from ?
My dealer is trying to trade his first 08 Xb in Hypnotic Teal Mica to another dealer for my Black one. I don't care, I'll take the 2nd or 3rd one to come in.

I doubt it was hydrogen, this is what happened the last time they filled an empty space with it:
It was nitrogen, and it's been one of the biggest scams of the $3.50/gal gas era. The idea is that it will maintain proper air pressure because it doesn't expand and contract like atmospheric air. They use it in the tires of planes and Nascar because of this. However, your car is unlikely to maintain speeds of >175mph for any length of time, and your daily commute isn't nearly as stressfull on your tires as brining a 35 ton plane to a complete halt from 600 mph flight.
The air we breath is about 78% Nitrogen, so it's not like it's a rare element or anything. They should be able to fill a set of tires for $5 and still make money.

Doesn't white look the dirtiest fastest?
I'm debating between white, silver, black and blue for the 08 XB. I guess silver must be the most practical color.
Quit talking to a Packer Fan.. hahaha kidding

Silver will be the best for dirt coverage.
Black is the worst for dirt, but definately can't be beat when clean. If you've never had a black car, it's a huge PITA. I'm not even going to list my rules for maintaining a black vechile. Suffice to say that there is no easy route to keep them clean without ruining your finish.
Never had a white vechile, but I think they look kinda plain. If I had to go white it would definatley be a pearl of somekind.

Getting a black one does concern me, but the colors really suck. My next choice would be white, but it is very boring, so is silver. I like the blue...close up, perfectly clean, on a cloudless day...but under any other circumstances, it just looks like any other blue car.
Blackberry is interesting, but just not one of the colors I like, I have always hated maroon (but for maroon, it is smokin) and the teal...well...the teal looks like a RS reject color. Attention-grabbing and different, but not in a good way.
Of the standard colors, I know black will look the best, PITA or no. I am thinking about trading it in for one of the RS cars eventually anyway, assuming I like one of the availible colors. Frankly, I think it would look best in a metallic orange pearl, like availible on the mitsu eclipse.

I agree. The color is hard to choose because the ones they offer kind of suck.
The Honda Element has and Toyota Prius have much nicer colors. Even the lowly Toyota Yaris has a sweet Bayou Blue Metallic.
I am not a black person (gets to hot and dirty) but I saw the 2008 xb in black and liked that it had a little bit of pearl and off black characteristics. I also liked the fact that it's the only color where the black pillar matches the body of the car. My choices are down to black, silver and white and I'm not sure at all right now what I'll end up getting.

The RS colors, IMHO, are on the other end of the spectrum, like torched penny, envy green, and the yellow RS2...just too much for me personally. Hot lava was even a little off for me, too dark of an orange, but actually kinda nice.
The pillar matching was another factor in my decision to go with black, though I bet that vinyl is probably removable without damaging the paint underneath.

So what kind of prices are we talking about by getting the spoiler at a later date? I have to consider the $423 as its installed and painted, vs. ___ at one of the scionlife guys sites then paint and my own install.... I am guessing in the long run i wont save that much...
The spoiler for me (in case someone jumps my butt) helps with dirt on the back window, and yes that is my main reason.

Looks like we have similar taste in color.
I wouldn't get a red car but the bottom red is so much better than the horrible ugly blackberry color.. And don't even get me started on teal. If they only made the car in teal and blackberry.. I would definately skip the xb.
By the way, what is RS? I'm new to scion and I hear RS this and RS that. And how come when I go out I see some XB's with colors that are not even listed. Are those RS colors?
The fact that Scion colors have always sucked is no excuse, the color is the ONLY reason I am still considering other cars (though I am pretty much decided at this point). Even the Chevy Aveo is availible in a vivid blue, a nice, normal red, and the new fad color-orange metallic. With cars like the aveo, Fit, 3...pretty much everything I looked at except the sentra, I would have trouble choosing because of more than one good choice.

RS stands for "Release Series". Every year all of the models will get a special color released in a limited run of 2 to 2500 units. They'll each have a few things unique to that RS + several off the shelf accy's in a core package. Each one is individually numbered and badged as well.
Jump over to eBay and do a quick search to see what people are selling them for, you'll be amazed.
