Default Air tank question

Does anyone have their airtank mounted in the spare tire location? I have the easy street tank and it just seems to tall to fit in spare tire area. Pics of setups would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I have no intentions on keeping the spare...i have aaa.

Do a search here somewhere because I saw one in the past where the tank was setup in the spare tire area with the spare still in it. Or try to do a search on the clubxb site.

Ive seen the upside down pancake tank setup but it wasnt a very clean setup imo. Im planning on doing a hardline managment setup. I was hoping to see other ideas also.

You could use the pancake tank, not the best looking tank but keep it hidden and who cares That WILL fit in the spare tire well, and you could also get a 3 gallon tank and mount that behind the rear bumper for a little extra air storage. I'm told the 5 gallon slims will fit under the back behind the bumper but you DO see it, a lip kit would hide it some but meh.

A 5-gals slim aluminum tank will fit underneath behind the bumper and you have to look to see it. Mine is a little more visible because I used a 0.1" sheet of aluminum for a mounting plate so that I could use a side mount tank. It's a great mounting location if you are going to hard line it since you can do everything under the car on a lift or jack-stands and use mirrors under the car to show it off when you want to.

Ricers... Fifth picture down from the top on page one, look closely towards the bottom of the picture. I have ALL of the components in there including the tank... I am also running a 3 gallon, but the 5 will fit too if its the 28x8 nine port that AVS and a lot of other people sell...

That's what I run is the 5-gal AVS tank. I would have fit everything in the hatch except that I wanted to keep my spare and have all my stereo equipment mounted above the spare. Add to that the fact that I need full storage ability at least once a week and it was under the car we go.

Thats why I fab'd the tubular support brace, to allow for full cargo load. Actually, the steel works way better than the stupid foam divider piece. I do hate having to carry my spare above the cover on long road trips, but air is full of trade offs in a car this small.
