Decided to install a Hitch and looking at options!

Hold on, you're looking for a 500lb max tongue weight and 5000 lb gross trailer weight rated hitch for a 800lb max weight capacity and 3300 lb GVWR FWD xB?

No worries I have no plans of pulling a big trailer.
I just think there is more versatility with a 2".

Gotcha, Jiffy.
Coming off an F150 SuperCrew with a Class III hitch, I just see it as a LOT of low-slung weight. But I see your rack attachment sizing commonality.
Damn it'd be so cool to apply an xB skin to a RWD chassis AND MOTOR and haul a refurbished 18' AirStream though...

An alternative possibility is to install a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter, though that still doesn't change the capability of the xB2 itself! The hitch doesn't determine the tow capability of our cars, our cars themselves do.

There is a 2" hitch available, but the critical thing is to recognize it has nothing to do with the toe capability of the car itself, it's purely a question of dimensions. The hitch class suggested by a 2" is hopelessly beyond the real capability of an xB2, please don't forget that !
I've done a lot of searches.
There's one out there that the description seems to state that it's 2" but when you look closer it's a Class 2.

What is cost of having a third party do your installation? I don't know, but I doubt it's trivial! My personal install included repainting the hitch for weather protection and I'm sure that's not included with a third party. My cost was the Curt hitch plus a can or two of paint (together with hassle and time), but clearly, you can expect significantly more. Guess it's all about our priorities. Still, no question the xB2 can haul a modest trailer, just keep it modest !
