Default DF210's or NF210's??

I am having the hardest time trying to figure out which ones I want... I'm already riding on TRD springs on 225/40/18's, but I would definitely love a lower ride. Question is, am I gonna be scraping on every living thing if I go with one of these... oh and I believe I read that my wheels wouldn't rub but I just wanna be sure. Would love input guys!!

...oh and Cionide, to make you happy, I have already used SEARCH and read reviews... but I'm still unable to come to a complete decision.

What are the specs on your wheels, including offset? The Tanabe springs give a good drop, but both the NF & DF have soft spring rates that ride comfortably but will rub with aggressive driving. If you want a lower drop that handles well, you might be better served with Tein H-Techs.

I believe the NF and the TRD give pretty much the same drop. If you go with the DF you will notice more of a difference in the drop. about .7" more in the front and about 1" more drop compared to the TRD springs.

You will definately scrape more things with the DF drop if you are not careful

You'll be fine with either NF or DF, but like streetxdreamer said, you'll need to be more careful around bumps, dips and driveways or you will scrape with the DF's.

What about S-Techs? Those have recently caught my eye too

S-Techs would lower your car the most. I say, DF210 would be the one to get.. it's lower then the TRD, just a nice drop..

good luck.
Keith.

Hey man, I just ordered some DF210s.

I will post some pictures as soon as I get them, and install them.

Personally I'm not a fan of that much drop on my daily driver, but the xB does look nice at that ride height. I don't know how well the stock shocks & struts will hold up to that much drop either; maybe some others can chime in on that one.

That would definitely be greatly appreciated

Hmmm... ok, I think that I'll most likely stick with the DF210's.

I have never seen the S-techs, are they lower than the DF210s?

DF & S-Tech are almost the exact same drop, but the S-Tech's have a higher spring rate for more stiffness as they compress.

Tanabe DF210 = 1.7"F/2.1"R drop, with 2.4/2.7 Progressive spring rates
Tein S-Tech = 1.7"F/2.2"R drop, with 3.1/4.1 Progressive spring rates

DF210's a bit softer for more compliant ride.
S-Tech's a bit stiffer for better handling.

It all depends on what you're trying to get out of your suspension.

Ive been and NF's since early 08 and i just love them. But now i just got wheels and i wanna make the xB look hella flush and i don't know how well the NF's will work. Next Set of springs i'm looking at is the Tein S-techs cause they are much stiffer and less bounce. Would love coilover but too much money to drop all at once =(

I hope this makes your decision easier and not harder, but I would suggest the Eibach Sportlines for what you're trying to achieve. Their drop is 1.2"F/2.2"R. The shallower front drop will mean less scraping potential. These will give a nice drop, even out the ride height more than either the DF's or the S-Tech's, and still have a nice ride. I'm an advocate for Eibach Sportlines. The drop is amazing and the ride is pretty damn comfortable for such a lower car.

If you go this low (Sportline, DF210s, H-Techs), I'd suggest getting new shocks. I'm waiting for mine to get worn down (I'm only at 40k miles, but put about 2k miles on my Sportlines) and then I'll be adding TRD Shocks most likely.

Check out the Sportline thread!

And if your buddies jumped off a cliff, would you, too?

Be one of us by becoming none of us! Go with Sportlines, and be different from your buddies!
