Default Jack Stands

Sometime next week I will be installing Tanabe NF210 springs. I have a question, probably a dumb one, but where is a good place to support the car with jack stands?

Use the points marked by arrows on the rocker panel which are designated in the manual.

Ill have to check the manual again. All I found before was the front and rear points that are designated to be used with a floor jack.

The points for use with the spare tire jack and jack stands are on P. 205 and the floor jack points are on P. 236.

Using jack stands in those locations appears to have bent the metal, is there a safer place to use the jack stands at?

That's a nice place to put it. I'm curious, after use, are there little dimples where the stand heads were touching the frame? I was thinking of using hockey pucks with little notches cut out so that the stand head is holding it firmly, and the puck is secure.

Also, when you're raising the car up, where are you placing the actual jack? In my old GTI, the lift points were crushed when not using the scissor jack. I'm afraid to mess these ones up as well.

No I didn't see any damage or marks when i took the jack stands out. It is a good strong frame LOL!! You are going to mess those points up where you put the jack cause they are mad thin and dont know why they fold but you wont tare up the frame.

Other than gravity, what's keeping the stands from sliding? The current set up seems a little slippery with metal on metal contact. Maybe even a rubber coaster would help.

If lifting the rear, setting the transmission into gear or park with wheel chocks. If lifting the front, setting the hand brake with wheel chocks. As for jack stand points, people put cloth, rubber, foam, carved out pieces of wood, and carved out hockey pucks. The wood and the hockey puck works well on the outer jack stand points, just carve a little groove for that metal flap and that will prevent it from bending, for the most part.
