Tanabe nf210 with trd shocks
I have the trd spring and shocks sitting in my garage and I was thinking about buying the tanabe nf210 and using those with the trd shocks instead. What are your thoughts? Do you think that the tanabe nf and trd shocks will match well or do you think because the trd shocks were designed with the trd springs (with a stiffer rate) they won’t. thanks for the input.

I am just curiouse why would you want to change it to Tanabe while you already had the TRD installed? The drop is almost the same. If you want ride comfort because the Tanabe is softer, then don't put the shocks in because the shocks are the ones that make a huge difference.

I have not installed them yet. They have been siting in my garage since nov. last year. The reason I am considering them is they are 1.7 (nf) in the rear instead of 1.5 (trd) and the fact that they will ride slightly softer. Anyone else running the trd shocks with other springs besides Bigfieroman. Also, how much stiffer are the Eibachs vs. Tanabe nfs.

hey I know this is xb forum but my buddy has the trd shocks on his tc and H&R springs and its almost a 2inch drop an dhis ride is fine. The trd shocks are high quality. Just stay away from the trd springs way to many uneven drops. I dont knwo if H&R has springs for the xb2 but if they i highly recomend them. I have those with tokico shocks awesoem is the word i would use to describe it. Im also trying to get the wifey to get an xb2 so Thats why i be on this part of SL getting some plans together already.

yes I agree that H&R makes good springs I ran those with tokico shocks in my accord and it was awesome. I am not going with the H&R springs for the xb2 because of the amount they lower is just weird, not enough in the rear IIRC. I may just go with coilovers for the height adjustment (my driveway is bad) but I am worried about them being to stiff for my daily driving. Also, every once in a while a client will jump into my car so I have to consider this too.

Here's the numbers:
TRD = 1"F/1.5"R = .5" closer to level
NF = 1"F/1.7"R = .7" closer to level
DF = 1.7"F/2.1"R = .4" closer to level
It's not visible to the human eye, but the TRD springs level out the ride more than DF springs. Of these three, NF's level it out the most. To go truly level, Eibach Sportlines (1.2"F/2.2"R) are the ticket.
Visually, the reason the DF's look like they level it out so much is that with the heavier drop, you close up more of the gap between the fender and the tire. It's an optical illusion.

I would expect that the TRD's would be most level since they are designed by Toyota and want the driveability to basically be the same as stock. Its just the design of the fenders that makes me prefer the DF's cause I like my wheel gap to be the same front and back.
Im hoping that when I install a set of TRD shocks and struts that it slightly raises and firms up my ride because my sh*t is slammed! lol
