Default 18x8 +40 TRD springs. What tire size to run?

I'm looking at some 18x8 +40 wheels for the xB2. It's riding on TRD springs. Can i go with a 225/45/18 or should I stick with a 225/40/18? Just looking to fill the gap a bit but not lower it any further or risk rubbing as I pile on the miles daily.

You'll be fine.

Ok, but should I go with 225/40/18, 235/40/18 or 225/45/18 for tires? Can I run spacers to get a bit more flush with the fitment? If so, what size spacers? Or will that cause issues with rubbing? I'm looking to be as flush as possible and fill as much wheel gap as possible without rubbing.

225/40/18 will still leave a gap. I run 235/40s on mine on DFs with a tiny gap.

225/45/18 on 18x8 should be fine and releive the gap a bit but you may look taller than how you're on now. I'm on Tanabe NF's and got 18x8.75 with 235/40/18. Its got an inch gap to compensate comfort for my passengers. The shop said 225/40/18 is the ideal setup but I too wanted to remove a bit of gap. Good luck mang.
