2012 16" Factory alloys - Lug nut question
Gonna be picking up my 2012 XB tomorrow. Dealer gave me a great deal on a set of factory scion 16" alloys.
Question: Will the lug nuts from the stock steel wheels work on these alloys? Also, will the TPMS sensors transfer into the new alloys as well?
Thanks

I wouldn't use the factory lug nuts with the OEM Scion 16" wheels. You spent a decent penny on the OEM 16" aluminum wheels, why not run a decent looking lug nut? The Gorilla spline type lug nuts work really well and will look a hundred times better than the OEM lug nuts.
But all in all, they probably will work just fine. I think the inside diamater of the lug holes should have ample space for a hefty 21mm impact socket.
I'm actually curious if the OEM aluminum wheels need a square seat lug nut, though... kind of like what the Lexus wheels use. This I'm not sure of.

OH! If that's the case, you should be fine. But like I mentioned, they may be similar to the Lexus lug nuts where they have a flat shoulder and shank.
For what it's worth, my TRD 19s used a regular conical seat lug nut.

If you're getting the wheels from the dealer, they should come with the lug nuts. TRD Sparks shows in their listing that the appropriate lug nuts are included...
