Got any bigger pics of this setup?

Kinda hard to tell with the wallet size photos, are the TRD springs on yet? Looks good with the silver on black.

Sorry was in a hurry to leave town. I was going to use the Tanabe NF210 springs, they are on backorder until sometime November.

I took pics with my iphone. Car is in GA and I am back in NC. I will try to get better ones to post this weekend.

CIONIDE,

I like the lowered look of the TRD springs on my 08 xB but I may wait a while before I lower the 12 xB. Kinda see how I like having more ground clearance.

Thanks for all your help.

I'll second on the tiny pics. I'm more concerned with the wheels pic. I've and I am considering the 2nd wheel you showed. wish the color had a bit more depth but its a good looking wheel. The first enkei well that's out of my budget.

I'm looking at these. In an 18" CIONIDE what do you think of the specs with 235/40/18, I want that Michelin MXM4 green tire for mileage and weight. 18x8 on a 45 offset. Whatcha think? I wish this had more depth to the color too but I'm really picky and have been waiting almost 2 years

18x8 +45 with 235/40-18 tires is fine. No rubbing, even with a heavy drop.

Your purchase has been approved, proceed to order & checkout.

Since I am commuting 40 miles one way everyday, I am going with 17's. I haven't made up my mind, but here are my two choices:

My Scion is a 09 Classic Silver.

Also gonna put Tanabe's on it when I order wheels and tires.

And a spoiler, some LED's in a few places... Then ICE.

Cionide, Currently I have the 2011 TC wheels but want to change it up. Will a 18x8 +40 with the 225/45/18 TC tires rub with TRD or NF210 drop? If I'm right it should push out 5mm from the TC wheel. I just don't want the front sticking out.

Thanks

^^ Yea, you'll be fine, shouldn't rub with the mild drop.

Check out the gmax as-03 if you're looking for new tires. Super street ( I believe) just did a massive FF battle with them, and loved them. Cheap, great tread wear, great grip and an ultra high performance all season.

I've been looking at those in 17 to replace my current wheels (to allow wider tires) myself, lol.

What brand 225/45R18's do you guys suggest? summer performance or all season tire
Just a little clarification here: As I understand it, a 225 on a 7" wheel can actually hurt your handling capabilities, as the widest recommend tire is 205, or 215 max. "Smooshing" the wider tire on the smaller wheel can also affect the contact patch.

This information was given to me by 15 or so 30(something) guys who have autocrossed on a weekly basis for years, so take it for what it is.

Also, check out the gmax as-03's (I swear I don't work for them..just trying to save people some money and show them a great tire option most people seem to ignore).

I'd love to go lower and larger, but tires don't grow on tree's and I don't have one of those money tree's. I think 18's are good enough that stay just out of getting too expensive for the tires. As CIONIDE says, they're is a compromise for performance, look, and price. While I'm not a fan of swapping rims on stock 16" tires, but I guess if that's what you want to do. If I were to have no limit on price, nor mileage, I'd go with the DF's and a 20" maybe something like pic below(just a quick find I know they're is better) But I can't afford nor want to spend 7k on my $16,9xx 4 door. Not dissing at all, I love seeing slammed scion's with some awesome wheels with 5% window tint on the front windshield an inter cooler sitting behind the bumper, and some Recaro racing seats. So bring on the cool expensive stuff, just don't be to rude to us average wage people trying to save the pennies for some 18's

Yep, It needs the lowering kit. I ordered the Tanabe NF210 lowering springs.

Car handles ok, but handles better when lowered. I can tell my 2008 on TRD lowering springs handled better than my new 2012.
