Default 20x8.5" et35mm 225/35/20 rub with DF210's?

Hey all, I just lowered my car with DF210's and have 20x8.5 et35mm wheels with 235/30/20's and I rub up front.

Does anyone have experience with these springs and wheel size and 225/35/20 tires as far as rubbing goes?

I for sure will not move down to a 225/30/20. I think the extra sidewall height in a 225/35/20 will provide a little more rim protection and ride comfort, and am hoping going to a 225 width will alleviate my rubbing problems.

Feedback is much appreciated.

that's one option, but I'd rather not have to do that. The risk of cracking paint is offputting to me and I'm not sure it would do a whole lot of good in the front where I think my tire is rubbing the fender liner, not the actual fender.

If you find someone who does it properly you will not crack the paint or anything....and if you can I would def go with a 225 tire in the front because on another thread there is a guy on coilovers with 19x9.5 and +25mm offset and he has no rubbing at all but is using a 225/35 tire so if you do 225/30 I think you will be golden... if I am not mistaken the 225/35/19 and 225/30/20 will be the same overall diameter in height so good luck and I am sure someone will chime in soon

You can tuck your inner liner up on the inside , easy just a stiff push past the lip... And just to be sure you could send the Guru of Fitment , everybodies friend, Mr. Cionide a message.

225/35-20 tires will still rub on +35 offset wheels with DF springs. Try camber bolts, or drop down to 225/30-20 tires.

dangit. So as far as I can tell, I am rubbing on the fender liner only, if I tuck it up inside the fender lip, that probably wouldn't be enough right?

Maybe I'll buy fender liners and mod them up somehow to avoid rubbing and still prevent splashing water and mud onto the body/electrical/mechanicals.

I should mention this car is a lease so rolling fenders is evermore a non-option and my roads are riddled with potholes and manhole covers sunk about 3 inches into the road, so thinner tires are also not an option.

Maybe I should just get the wheel rear pads shaved down a bit, maybe 3mm.

If you're rubbing on the fender liner, eff it. You'll be fine. I've rubbed through mine in more than one spot.
No way in hell you're even close to hitting the fender itself. Lol!

Depending on where you're rubbing it, you could heat it up with a heat gun and reform it so you don't rub that area. I've done this with my buddy's WRX after I rolled the front fenders. Liners still stay where they should.
