Default Any stretch Gurus in here? What tires stretch the best?

Can someone educamacate me on good tires that stretch that don't cost an arm and a leg? I heard the Toyo T1s stretch good, but they're kind of pricey. Then I heard Falkens were good, but which ones?

I'm looking for 215/40/18 and 205/40/18.... thanks.

I was going to say the Falken 452's are supposed to be targeted more towards the VIP stretch style. I've read that the Federals also have nice stretch.

I'm glad you're going in this direction, bro!

D_Unit, you asked about stretched tires & offset on some 17x8 & 17x9 wheels in another thread; now you're onto 18's, care to share any more wheel info?

Yeah whats your wheel specs?

Also stay away from Federals. Only reason ppl rock them is cause they are cheap as hell! I always say, "Federals don't wear out, they blow out!" Falkens are only a lil bit better. They don't impress me. I would honestly get some Toyo T1R's. Soooooo many ppl use them for streching and look damn good being stretching too!

Anyways what you need to look for when stretching tires is to first find the size you think you can do and then look up thread width. A shorter tread width will give it a more stretch look.

Also make sure you got to a shop that knows what they are doing when streching tires. Alot of places don't like it and wont do it and or dont have the proper tools to do it.

I listed the wheels specs above, but here they are again.

18x8 +26 18x9 +20

What size would you suggest? I was thinking 215/40/18 all around on my DF210s. CIONIDE helped me out with this link below so I'm basing my measurements on Willow's XB running 17 x 9's with a + 35 with 225/45/17 tires dropped on df's...
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=231000

What size do you guys think I should run?

Sorry D unit, u posted the sizes just as i posted mine haha.

But those sizes, your only gonna be able to stretch a lil bit. Nothign crazy.

For the front i would do 215/35/18. The rear you could do a 215/35/18 or a 225/35/18. If you do 215 in the rear, it will look pretty stretched but you will have an un-even stretch front and rear. What i mean is that you will have a minor stretch in the front and more stretched in the rear. It wont look proportional.

But id do 215/35/18 and 225/35/18. The stretch will look proportional front and rear.

I'd give the Falken FK-452's a whirl, bro. At around $115 apiece, they're not too bad. They're reinforced, which would be a plus especially when stretching.

But the T1R's are around $170...

I've been searching prices on the T1Rs since MattyPoo posted and they're too rich for my blood. The Falken 452s are more in my price range, so where does everyone buy them from?

It appears these are the sizes I can choose from from Falken 452s...

1010tires.com...
Falken FK-452 Tires - 215/35ZR18 REINF 215/35ZR18 REINF $129
Falken FK-452 Tires - 215/40ZR18 REINF 215/40ZR18 REINF $149
Falken FK-452 Tires - 225/35ZR18 REINF 225/35ZR18 REINF $179
Falken FK-452 Tires - 225/40ZR18 REINF 225/40ZR18 REINF $149

Anywhere know where I can them cheaper?

I forgot to add, when stretching tires, you gotta check out the drop center of the wheels. But with those Works u posted, the drop centers should be relatively small so you shoudnt have a problem airing up tires. You tend to have probelms airing up tires with huge drop centers. Wheels with huge drop centers are usually wide and with negative offsets. I know from experience

35 series tires are too small in diameter, and don't have as much sidewall to stretch as 40 series. Based on those low offsets, I would stick with your first thought of the 205/40-18 for the fronts.

MaxBoost was running 18x10 +32 wheels with 255/35 tires on a Hotchkis (2.25") rear drop, so I think you should be fine with 225/40's on the 18x9 +20 wheels.

These tire sizes will also keep the front & rear stretches close to the same amount, so they won't look goofy.

These guys have the absolute lowest online tire prices:
http://tires-easy.com
The Falken 452's are $20-$30 cheaper per tire (depending on size).

Oh, and BTW, super nice looking wheels; definitely something that I have not seen on any other xB's!

Call me a cheap a$$, but those Federal SS595's are cheap at tire-easy.com!

Federal SS-595 225/40/18 $ 72.80 2 $ 145.60
Federal SS-595 215/40/18 $ 88.30 2 $ 176.60
Total 4 $ 322.20

I can't recall ever hearing anything bad about them, either. A buddy of mine works at a tire shop and installs the Federals all the time. He told me they're a legit tire.
And hell, if they're junk, you're not out a gaggle of green.
