Default Axis Decades or Widetracks...Pick one!

Hi all,

Im lookin for some new shoes for my ride. I been contemplating the look of the Widetracks for

some time now, but the more i see the decades, the more i like them because of the spokes

if i were to get the widetracks, im getting the 60mm lip front and 90mm lip rear

just wanted to see how the rest of the xb family likes these?

cionide, if i went with the decades instead, would i have to get something different for the fitment?

for the widetracks, i was getting 225/40/18 are the decades gonna be the same?

VS

sorry for the big pics

IIRC you want the staggered wheel lip look. Both the Wide Tracks and the Decades offer the Maxis lip design of the 90mm lip rear wheels, providing staggered wheel lips while maintaining an 18x8 size on both the front & rear. This means you would also use the same 225/40-18 tires front & rear on both the Wide Tracks and Decades.

The Decades run 22-23#'s each in 18's and the Wide Tracks run 19-22#'s each.
Certainly not as light as forged wheels, but I see +25# wheels all the time, and some of the 20's people put on are over 30#'s.
The 22# range is not a big deal for the xB2's 2.4L engine, but I can see how they would have a little more impact on the 1.5L in the 1st-Gen.

if you are really going to go with the axis rims, send a pm to xbboy, he can get you the best price from axis directly and have them shipped right to your door... he gave me the total hook up on mine... by far the best price around, and i looked for a month for the best price before i contacted him

I think the widetracks will look nice. You are going to need to slam it to pull off anything with a huge lip in 18''. Otherwise the kinda bulbous appearance of the xb will look out of proportion IMO.

You'll be fine, no rubbing with either choice on NF springs.

Yes, the lips are just a little deeper on the Wide Tracks, but not by very much:

Personally, I think the Decades will look better on BCM, but that's just my .02

You get the standard 18x8 wheels (60mm lip) for the front, and the Maxis 18x8 (90mm lip) for the rear. Both 18x8, but lips are different depths, so it has the staggered look that is normally achieved by going with wider wheels in the rear than the front.

This is how the Maxis lip works:

seems like the general public is split between these two...how do you guys feel about the axis Shines?

cionide, what kind of tires would i need to run those rims? i know they are bigger than the other two. they are also more $$ as well.

19/8.5 all the way around right? can't go with the staggered look because the width of the rears would be 19/9.5

You can run the 19x9.5 +40 in the rear with 245/35-19 tires.
