CIONIDE finally gets new shoes & socks!

Very nice Cionide, I sooo wanted to stagger vertically and now that I have 19s all around I realize it would have been perfect. Just too hard to find the wheels I had to have at all let alone 2 18s and 2 19s Ha. So I'm jealous...

Thanks D_Unit. I don't want to tempt Johnny Law to pull me over, but I actually talked to a tint shop 2 days ago about going with 50%. That would put the fronts about 10% lighter than the stock rear privacy glass. I may do it next week.

Oh God that's awful. Here in Florida we're allowed to go with 30% tint up front and 20% in rear. It's still not dark enough for the Florida sun though.
I'm thinking of going illegal and darkening that tint more and even tinting the front windshield to a good 50%.
Nice setup btw! Love those wheels and was thinking a while back of getting the weapons. But I'm still undecided.

IIRC, the rear windows are 30% right? I had a tint shop install 35% on my fronts since they did not have 30% and it still bugs me till this day. That being said, I think most people exaggerate about Cali tint laws. I've had mine for almost 2 years, been pulled over once for speeding, but never have been hassled over my tint or HIDs for that matter.
Honestly, Johnny Law only hassles people that fit the "Neek" or "SeveredVegan" profile. Just as long as you don't like to hang Hello Kitty animals on the rear of the car, you should be fine.
Getting a nice tint matched up front will not draw any unwanted attention IMO. Fifty percent up front will also look nice, but don't let Johnny Law affect your decision man!

I've never been able to confirm it, but I read on another SL thread a long time ago that the factory tint is about 28% rear and 73% front. Adding 50% tint on top of the 73% would bring the fronts down to about 36%. I'll be driving by the tint shop later this week to hold up 50% against the front door glass and see how it looks compared to the factory tint on the rear door glass.

I definitely don't want to disappear completely when tint is applied to my windows - I just want it to be cooler and have me... less noticeable. I'm not comfortable with the fact that I can be seen inside my car easily as I like my privacy.
And I only want a small shade on my windshield so that I can help block out sun.
And I see illegal tint frequently here in Jacksonville along with purple HIDs. Don't ask me how they get away with it though because I'm a cop magnet and never fail to not get a ticket when I'm pulled over. Warning? Puh-lease! I never get off with a warning. Plus I'm under 25 and I'm Asian.

Police don't care much for me because I'm tattooed and have stretched lobes.

Adding 50% up front would still be much lighter compared to your rear tint.
This is what 50% tint looks like up front, with stock privacy glass on the rear:
