Help me with a light-weigth wheel
I am looking for a lightweight set of wheels. I have read many posts and I always get caught up looking at wheelweights.net but a good majority of those wheels are expensive and very rare or disontinued.
I have shopped online through
www.tirerack.com
www.edgeracing.com
checked out konig and motegi for there selection but nothing really impresses me
And please don't say rota slipstream....bad experiences
I just wanted to know is there a decent 16" or 17" rim out there that isn't hella expensive that is somewhat light and goes good on a BSP(black sand pearl)
I always find out that the majority of them are 5 spoked, never a good color(want glossy black all they have if flat black), is hella expensive or they are out of stock.
Can anyone help me or suggest a website that I should shop or maybe make my day and shoot me a link of a good set?
I kinda lost hope in finding a good lightweight set

There really aren't many lightweight wheels that are cheap being that the forging process is more expensive than that of casting. So good luck on finding some cheap lightweight wheels. Especially to your preferences. Save up for some authentic ones and keep a look out on sponsored sales and stuff.

The MB Weapon is the best deal for weight vs. cost that I have seen in a 17" spoked wheel that I like the looks of. No they're not gloss black, but as you've already discovered, nothing is that meets your criteria. The 17x7 weighs 18# and the 17x8 weighs 20#, so you could have them powder coated gloss black and still have a relatively light weight wheel that isn't $300+. Just a little food for thought.

...or you could just leave them bronze, which looks good on BSP also.

Like I said b4, you are pretty much stuck with Konig, theTenzo type M, or Motegi. I don't know of a single gloss black wheel that meets your requirements.
If you want to mortgage your house, you could go SSR.
The other option is to pick a wheel you like in any color and have them powdercoated. Call around in your area for qoutes from powdercoaters. It should not run you too much as they just sandblast em and get on with the powdercoat.

Check out Team Dynamics wheels. I had some Pro Race 1's on my last car and they looked awesome and weighed about 17lbs.

the black racing pro n1 comes in a gloss black and it weighs about 20lbs for an 18". Price around 320/wheel. Hope that helps. Also you could get the oz ultra leggra in 17". It is a flat black by name but more of a semi to light gloss in person.

I'm also searching for light /inexpensive 18" rim and tire combo. I've found two that I like so far: Enkei RPM2 = 18.6lbs and Motegi SP10 = 18.9lbs. Not to bad for the price. The lightest and reasonably priced I've seen are the Kosei rims on Tire Rack. The Kosei K1 TS has 5 twin spokes and they have it in light grey and only weighs 13.7lbs. I've heard pretty good reviews on this brand of wheels from when I had a WRX.

If they would just take that same wheel and offer a bunch of colors they would really have something.

I am interested in those wheels, and what your impressions of having 17's. Personally the 17's look about as good as the 18's.
