Default Little hard work and some polish 19" TRD wheels

Ok so I posted one pic and got a good response so I will post a few more and how I did it. I picked up a set of TRD wheels and the lips were scratched and dull from the previous owner not taking care of them. I built a jig on my work bench with some clamps and my hand drill. I can control the speed via the pressure I use with the sand paper. The TRD wheels come with a thick coat of clear so this is NO fast process.

when I took this pic I had already started the sanding process. I then stepped my sanding from 80 all the way to 1500. Like I said they come with a thick coat of clear and it will take some time and patients to break through all that clear. I stopped at 1500 cause I liked the look and then I just hit them with some polish. I used Mothers while still on the wheel jig so I could do multiple coats and it took less time.

I have a bud that has a set on his XB and we put them next to each other and you wouldn't think it would be that obvious, but man I tell you my wheels are night and day better.

Look seriously great! So you just mounted the drill to the bench, made an arbor to go through the center hole, and VOILA!

Too bad I put new tires on my wheels 6 months ago... Ugh. I need to get a friend that works at a tire shop and throw them on a wheel balancer and do the same thing. Most of my clear is gone due to the prior owner of the wheel neglecting them. I've hit them with the Mothers powercone and polish with great results.

yeah the jig was built from a rod,old rotor and some shims so I can do different sizes of wheels. OK so here is the kicker I did all this work and then I'm out a few weeks ago and I see a red xb with the TRD wheels and Im one of those people that cant have the same thing as someone else so now I have to sale these and do something rare I guess to be different. So glad I didn't throw down the cash for tires yet LOL.

Thanks Sam ....who knows I still might just use these cause I do like shiny things LOL

Rare usually costs money. Different is subjective.

Have you seen this site yet? http://vrwheels.com

After you have 50 posts you can put up a for sale thread for your TRDs in the classified sales wheels/tires forum.

My buyer backed out....they are back for sale

Yeah I had prob 3-4 hours in each wheel hell if no one buys them soon I might just toss some tires on them and roll them myself.
