Default MRR HR3

Well, finally decided on a set of wheels, and pulled the trigger. Went with the MRR HR3 in brushed aluminum, 17 x 7, with a +42 offset. Paid $375 shipped going the eBay route. I don't think I can go wrong at that price. I really considered 19s, but the price of tires turned me off. A decent all season would have run $150+ each. I can get a good 215/45R17 for $63 each. I don't want to increase the unsprung weight too much either. Oh well, here's a pic of the wheels. If someone could please volunteer their photoshop skills, I have a smaller pic, plus a pic of my car available too. Thanks.

I will post up pics once they're on, but it might take a while till I purchase the tires. I'm thinking of the Falken ZE-912. I've had experience with the ZE-512, and it's always been good.

I'm sure it's possible with shopping. I just went to the frequent flyer websites, tirerack.com etc. The correct size 19" all seasons were around $160-170. Summer tires were less, around the $110-120 range. I suppose I'm a frugal bastad, I guess that's why I bought wheels for $375. I've liked the pics I've seen of these wheels on other cars. They always seem to look bigger that their actual size, maybe due to all the surface material on the face of the wheel. The seller said they are light, around the 15-16 lb. range. I don't buy that. If they're less than 22 lbs. I'll be happy.

Where are you guys finding 17's and 19's new? I contacted MRR about those same wheels and was told that they only made them in 20's?

I'm pretty sure these sizes are now discontinued. You would have to hunt around to find a set.

I was looking at those exact same wheels... Please post pics when you get them on...

BTW, how'd you get them for that price on Ebay? Every time I looked on there, they only sold 20s....

ok yeah I did some checking and the only size being made now are the 20's. Everything else is going to be old stock and subject to what the dealers have

Haven't installed them yet. Waiting for the money to get tires. Also, they weigh 24.6 lbs according to my bathroom digital scale. Kinda heavy. The stock steelie and tire without hubcap weighs 41.8 lbs. So I need about a 17 - 18 lb. tire to keep it close.
