Default RS5 Reporting In

So.. after months of saving, contemplating, research, and reassurance, I've finally found my set. A very big THANKS goes out to Cionide. He definitely helped me narrow down my choices as to wheel, tire, and suspension setup.

Since the whole wheel & tire field is new to me, it took me a while to finally make my decisions but in the long run, I'm satisfied.

Anyway, here are some photos.. Let me know what you think!

Before. Her first winter experience.

After. Dropped on H-Techs.

After After. Complete with XXR 521s 18x8.5 +40 wrapped in Falkens 225/40/18. 10mm spacers in the rear. More pics below.

A special thanks also goes out to nlmotoring for the great deal on this set!

I hope you guys like it.. Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous ride, man!
the wheels and the moderate drop. Seems functional!
CIONIDE did you right with the et, they look pretty flush.

Thanks everyone! I try to keep it simple and clean for now.

@1989menace:
I would have loved to slam it but since this is my DD, I have passengers and audio equipment from time to time. I can't really risk it. . Also, Jersey's roads aren't the smoothest of them all. It would be rub/scrape nation for me.

@tlk90:
I'm actually located in North Jersey. I do drive to NY sometimes but mostly the city.

WOW! I love it! That's the specs(18x8.5,+40,225/40/1 I've been looking for. Might have to get some rear spacers now. Let me know if you have any rubbing issues and with passengers also. Thanks! CIONIDE knows his stuff!

So far I've lad little to no rubbing issues at all, even with 2 passengers at the back. It only rubs during hard bumps. The H Tech's stiffer spring rates definitely do help. I haven't driven the car with a full load of passengers or audio equipment yet so I'll get back to you once I do.

Thanks again everyone!

Those look great. Did you order the 18x8.5 in +30 or +40 offset? Maybe CIONIDE can answer this. Thanks

I mentioned it on my post. I got 18x8.5 +40 all around and 10mm spacers in the back. From Cionide's specs, its not dead flush but its close enough in my eyes.

18x8.5 +40 up front is virtually dead flush, and with the 10mm spacers in the rear it's about 1/8" in from dead flush. Since he carries passengers and equipment occasionally, we didn't want to push it. As it is, he is reporting an occasional light rub over hard bumps with passengers, so I think we got it as close to perfect as possible for his daily driving needs.

BTW rexB, a light fender roll will fix that rare rubbing issue, if you ever feel the need.

I love these wheels but I'm not sure about getting them If I am going to install air ride. CIONIDE do you have a size you would suggest in this rim? Right now I am running the 19" TRD's. Thanks

I don't know exactly what you're trying to accomplish, or if you're looking for other sizes, but these wheels as spec'd would work fine for air ride with it's adjustability.

Thanks for the correction, lol. Anyway, the rubbing is very very rare now. It only happens on times where I don't stay aware of potholes/hard bumps. Apparently, the inside of my front fenders already folded to the shape of the tire from all the times it slightly rubbed so maybe thats why I don't feel it anymore. It rides super smooth now. Springs are settled and tires are almost broken in. Now its time for that alignment.

Killer look! Love it!

I know this is an old post, but . . . don't they make these wheels in a +30 as well? Could you have gotten them in the right bolt pattern in +30 for the rear instead of using the 10mm spacers?

How much did the H Techs lower your xB from stock? I assume you had the TRD springs on it stock since it is an SE?

My sister has an RS 7.0 and I'm trying to talk her into these wheels with the blue rivets to match the blue-ish color on her xB.

Those wheels look sick on the RS 5.
I have the same car and am hoping to get some wheels in the near future.
