Stock steels with spacers?

Stock steels with spacers?
Decided not to purchase rims at the moment due to lack of money. Going to keep the steels but I'm looking to bring the rear wheels out flush with the fender. I hate the way they sit in so much! The fronts are ok so no spacer up front. Did some research and the Eibachs look to be the best. I thought I read somewhere where the steels did not work with the Eibachs, this true?
There will be no dropping the suspension. The tires I will be buying are Cooper Zeon RS3-A in 225/55R16's. I like these because they do not have that serated strip that goes around the tire and Consumer Reports gave it a good rating. Does anyone think the 55 profiles are too truck like or should I stay with 50's? Any input appreciated. Thanks.

I have 18 inch wheels but am looking to sell them. I am also going the steelie route. I already have 20mm Ichiba wheel spacers in the back. Hopefully, next year I can get some tires. I dont think I will go back wheels. I like how they look lowered on steelies.

Is there really any difference between Ichiba or Eibachs? They look to be the same price. OR. Would I be able to achieve the flush look just by putting wider tires on the stock 16's? If so what width? I'm reading stories about spacers being complete nightmares and I don't want I'm reading happen to me.

I had to remove the wheel spacers because the studs stick out and that wouldn't allow the steelies to sit properly. I hate how the back wheels sink inwards too much. I'm fine with the front wheels though. Any suggestions?

If you want to use the Ichiba V2/Eibach DRM type spacers (the ones that bolt on to your hubs and then have their own studs to mount the wheels to) you'll need to go with 25mm (1 inch) or thicker spacers unlees you are willing to shorten your stock studs a liitle bit. I had a pair of them in 25mm on the rear with my stock steelies and it looked awesome. Only problem was it made the FRONTS look a little too sucked in (opposite problem from the one I was trying to remedy ). If I had stayed with the steelies, I would have probably put a 10mm Ichiba V1/Eibach DRS type spacer (the slip on kind that uses longer studs) up front and I think it would be perfect. Now, if you want to use the Ichiba V1/Eibach DRS type spacer on the rear, you can put whatever size you want - 10,12,15,17,20mm - you just need to replace the stock studs with the new ones supplied with the spacers.
