Default Swap out stock wheels...

Just traded by 06 xb for an 08, and unlike last time when I bought some 18s right off the bat, I'm wanting to buy some cheap wheels to replace the stock steel ones. However, I'm lookin for wheels that are close to the same as stock, so I can swap out the tires and tpms sensors. So, I have 2 questions...

1. Will the stock tires fit a 16x7 inch wheel?

2. What offset do I need for a 16x7 inch wheel, will +40 or +42mm work?

Most importantly, I dont want to have to use spacers. I'd appreciate any info greatly. Thanx.

1) Yes
2) Yes

Stock wheels are 16x6.5" - +45 offset, no spacers needed for +40 or +42

Right you are.

I'm also in the same boat. I've been looking pretty heavily for some new 16" wheels; I just can't bring myself to not use up the stock rubber.

With the stock tires you can go as wide as 7.5" if you want to. I am going the 7.5" wide because I want to upgrade to a better and wider tire when the stock tires wear down.

I think they have those for $105/wheel at www.edgeracing.com. Not sure if you're paying more or less, but I just thought I'd throw it out there. You can't go wrong with Sport Max!

With my last xb I had some 18s with a machined lip and directional tires that I had to take off every winter, now, with TPMS, I decided to look for some wheels I could leave on year round and swap out the sensors. Still plan on buyin another set eventually, but a second set of sensors is pricey, so I decided to look for a wheel that is all painted that I could run year round but still be practical. The sportmax wheels seem the best bet all around, painted, same size as factory, and light weight is an added bonus. Plus, I like wheels with minimal spokes especially now that the xb has four wheel discs.

Default Ditto...

I traded in my 06 xA, and am doing the same thing...but first I am trying to decide what color I want to go with. The xA was black (carbon fiber everywhere) with black rims with polished lip...my xB is white, and I am thinking white or chrome rims...or possibly silver paint. No polished lip this time, for sure. What do you guys think?

white on white looks cheesy most of the time. it has to be just the right wheel. chrome is gross.

and why no lip? a nice polished lip will always look good.

White on white depends mostly on the wheel, but it's hard to execute that color combination well.

As for me, I'm most likely going to go with some Konig Britelites or Enkei RZ-5s.
