Tork Wheels availability
Hello,
So I've decided on Tork Imagine wheels, however in calling around to different suppliers apparently Tork and their parent company AutoMotoring have 0 inventory for the last 5 months and they are saying it will be 2 - 3 months before they can get my wheels. Something about their manufacturer screwing them over.
I'm curious if the scionlife readers know of any big warehouses that may have the Tork Imagine's in hyper black 18x8 and 19x8 in stock? I'd be sure to mention your name when ordering and hopefully get you a referral bonus or at least a thankyou.
I appreciate it...

So looks like Tork is still having issues getting wheels sent, but I was able to get 4 19x8s off a guy in the Acura forums. So now I'd like to make sure 245/40 19 will fit all the way around?
I've been reading this forum heavily during my wheel picking adventure and was near 100% sure but then the guy at discount tire just said "his computer" said 235/35 19 are the biggest for the 2nd Gen XB. I do not have a drop and at most am planning the TRD springs. I want to have a decent sidewall and I don't like the stretched tire look of 225s and 45s seem too big.
PS I understand that sidewall is a percentage of width. :-)

AFAIK those are only available with +25 and +35 offsets in the 19x8 size; both of which will rub up front with 245/40-19 tires and any drop. Are the ones you're looking at +35 offset? Ideally you should be running 235/35-19 tires with those wheels, as long as they're the +35 offset, and you stick to the TRD drop.

Thanks for the help (again) cionide... Well I guess I'm glad I checked. I might go the route of just lowering the rear suspension and not the fronts by putting 1st XB springs in the back. Any thoughts on that?
I"m thinking I'm OK with the rear fitment, with our w/o a drop?
PS. I got the +35 offset

You're looking at some pretty large size tires there, that I've never seen on an xB2 before. If anybody else is running a similar set-up you're going to need to hear from them. (Glad to hear they're +35 offset.)

Hey Cionide, someone else started a thread at clubxb.com and I ended up posting my 245/40/19 pics there but wanted to get your and scionlife opinions. If that's against the rules the Mods can just b*tch slap me down :-) They let me upload pics over there, I'll try and use imageshack here, but I don't like the pic hosting sites as the pictures don't last.

OK I have 2 Nankang NS-II tires (245/40/19) on my Tork Imagine 19x8 +35 rims on the front of my car ONLY and so far very very light rub. Only when reversing through a Cali driveway dip and turning wheels at same time. Until I get them on all 4 I can't be 100% sure they won't rub more. I haven't been past 45 mph as I haven't gotten an alingment yet, the MiraMar Discount Tire "was mistaken" when he said he can get me 2 more Nankang's before end of July. Also I'm sure they put a small shallow scratch on one my rims although I had no way of proving it, they denied it when they showed it to me after it was out of the car but before the tire was on it, I wasn't in the mood for a fight so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I'm hoping it will buff out sometime in the future. So now I have to get 2 Nankang's from somewhere else and mount them. Pics in link below...
I really like the way the fill out the fender and are quite aggressive offset for the front. I'm very happy with them but realize I may have to stretch the fender a bit or try and tack the black inner fender lining back somehow a 1/4 inch or so. It moves easy just by pushing on it though. If the 235/40/19s weren't so damn expensive I would have went with them.
PS Also the RS5 lipkit takes up some space around the wheel well which is why it looks close between it and the tire. Advice on Hyperblack rims and scratch removal? Thoughts?

Definitely fills out the fenders better, but I don't know how much more rubbing you might have up front with more varied everyday driving. Since it only rubs on the fender liner during turns, you shouldn't have any trouble with the same size rear tires.
