It all depends on the width of the wheel and the size of the tires. Personally I think +35 is pushing it a little, but I have seen some people with 18x8.5 +35 and stretched tires.

Find a wheel you like, and let see what fitment options are available. Then I can help you decide what will work best.

Yes, by "pushing it" I meant that depending on the width, you might be sticking out past the fenders and maybe have rubbing issues if you're dropped low on springs (or plan to in the future).

Stretched tires are when you put on a tire that would normally be considered to narrow for the rim, so that the sidewall angles in as you move from the lip of the rim toward the tread. If you look at the first 3 pics on this thread you'll see what I mean: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=204079

With that all said; 18x7.5" wide wheels would be fine with a +35 offset and 225/40 tires (almost perfectly flush on the front). The 18x7.5 +40 would also fit with no problems. Choose a wheel and place an order.

The most popular and respected companies for quality when it comes to lowering springs are TRD, Eibach (Pro-Kit & Sportlines), Tanabe (NF210 and DF210), and Hotchkis. To my knowledge, Tein has not yet released springs for the xB2, and I haven't seen anything on H&R either.

How low you WANT to go is a personal preference; and how low you CAN go will depend on what tires & wheels you choose. It is a give and take arrangement depending on your desires. What I mean by that, is some people HAVE to have a particular wheel, and choose their drop around the wheels. Others HAVE to have a particular drop, and choose their wheels and tires to accommodate the drop.

Here is a link to the different drops for each spring set:

http://newscionxb.com/scion_xb_perfo...on-t643.0.html

Take a look, and let me know your thoughts. We can work from there to find the best combination for your desires.

If you've never changed springs before, I recommend help from someone who has, or just paying the $150-$200 to have an experienced professional shop handle it for you.

Will they be stickin out alittle on the back?
I saw that somebody asked about a chip that increases mpg for the xb.
Do you know about this chip?

18x7.5 +35 wheels with 225/40 tires will work fine with both TRD and Tanabe NF210 springs. I chose the NF's because they drop the rear about 1/4" more than the TRD's, and the NF's ride the slightest bit softer. I wanted the most comfortable ride because I drive 500+ miles per week, and I know I will be losing sidewall height when I step up from 16" to 18" wheels.

The rears will actually be in a little further than the front, not sticking out more. Fronts will be pretty close to flush with the fenders, but in just a little bit.

STAY AWAY FROM THE CHIP, STAY VERY FAR AWAY!!!

so do people usually buy a set of 4 wheels wwhen buying for an 08 xb or do they buy 2 sets 1 for the front and a wider 1 on the back?
isnt that what wheel spacers are for ?
to even the wheels out?

If you want to be able to rotate your tires/wheels, all 4 need to be the same. If all 4 are the same, the rears will sit in a little further than the fronts; and yes, spacers can be used to get the front and rear more flush with each other if it bothers you.

Staggered wheels are only for looks on a FWD car. Many people like the looks of big fat tires and wheels on the rear, but you will not be able to rotate if you do that. This is also another way to get the face of the front and rear wheels flush with the fenders.

It all boils down to personal preference.

RoboX found that the best spacers to make the rear flush with the front are 15mm driver side and 20mm passenger side. The rear axle is offset a little bit toward the driver side on our 2nd-Gen xB's.

Yes, the wheels that come with the xB can be rotated. The wheels are 16x6.5 front and rear, not staggered, and the tires are 205/55-16 front and rear with tires that are not uni-directional.

They have no spacers, that's why if you look at the front and rear, the fronts are closer to the edge of the fenders.

I believe the stock wheels are a 45mm offset.

heruk, I think the tire and wheel calculator we all use will help you understand how the changes from stock may or may not work, and what the resultant changes will be:

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Keep in mind that the stock wheels are 16"x6.5" with +45 offset, and the tires are 205/55x16".

Have fun playing with the calculator/comparer!
