Default What is the widest tire & wheel for a RS 7.0?

I just purchased a new 2010 RS 7.0.

I would like to know what is the widest tire and wheel I can run front and rear. I have seen posts about running a 9.5" wheel in the rear. I would like to stay with either a 17" or 18" wheel (we have a LOT of pot holes in our town). The wife has already told me that I can't modify the wheel wells.

Thanks.

Considering her proficiency with a firearm, that WOULD be fatal!

I like the 18x8 with a 225/40R18 on the front with a 40 offset, that is basically just tucked in the edge of the fender. Any wider or lower offset and you'll poke out some. For the rear you can go with a wider rim or lower offset. About a 10-15mm lower offset or a 9.5" width rim will come out almost perfectly flush. Or you could just add some 10-15mm spacers and run all four rims the same size. Much easier for rotating tires. All of this is dependent on how high you want to have the vehicle. I keep mine aired up about 1 1/2" above the tires so that the front doesn't rub on hard corners or large pot holes and so that it'll clear the slope up the driveway.
