I'm really thinking of ditching my 18's in favor of some 20's. My question is what's the lowest offset i can get away with, with a hotchkis drop?? I might be getting some 20's for free, and if i do, i want them to fit with the drop, i test fit them at work and stock it looked good, but the offset isn't stamped on the wheels.. From what it looked like, i don't have much room to work with. The tires are 225-35-20 instead of 225-30-20 which is better suited IMO.. I really don't want it to come down to either the drop or the 20's.. I want both damnit!!!!

What type of wheels are they, and how wide? With that info I should be able to find out the offset.
On a Hotchkis drop, you should really have the 225/30-20 tires to make sure no rubbing.

U2-35's... that's a lot of chrome, and those are going to be some heavy wheels. 20x8.5's are available in either +38 or +13 offset, so I'm sure the ones you tried are +38. Worst case scenario with a Hotchkis drop is a little fender rolling, but you definitely want the 225/30 tires with the +38 offset.
