Looking at purchasing the 410 mesh rim by j2/monarch - i am thinkin 9.5 in the rear and 8.5 for the fronts . I am lowered on hotchkis springs and my question is what offset & tire size will work best? I greatly appreciate any input - Thanks

The Monarch website does not list the 410 Mesh in a 19x8.5 size as being available in a 5x114.3 lug pattern. They also don't show any available offsets.

If you can put up a link that shows a 19x8.5 in 5x114.3, as well as available offsets for both the 8.5 and 9.5 widths, I'll be able to help you.

SuperBuyTires carries J2 wheels, but not the Monarch series (410 Mesh). At least not that I could find.

If you're OK dropping down to 18's, you could run 18x8 fronts and 18x9 rears. I'm sure they'll have offsets that work since Toyota is one of the listed applications. If 18's are an option, find out what offsets they have for each size wheel in the +38 to +48 range.

Sorry, missed the J2's listed as "Four Ten" instead of 410. They show 19x8.5 and 19x9.5, but they don't list lug patterns or offsets. When I checked their site for 19" wheels that fit a stock Scion xB2 (no drop) they don't even show any J2 wheels as an option. It doesn't mean they won't work, but you need to find out if the 19x8.5's are available in a 5x114.3 lug pattern, and what the available offsets are for both the 8.5 and 9.5 wide.

Those Falkens weigh 33.5 lbs each! Kiss your acceleration and gas mileage good bye. Also with a 35 offset you're gonna rub up front on the Hotchkis springs with anything but rubber bands for tires.

Just got the numbers from michaeL @ m2motoring has some 410's in stock specs are - 19 -9.5 +45 offset & 19-8.5 + 33 offset - Heck of a nice guy - Correct me if im wrong but don't these offsets = same size lip?

In theory, they will have about the same size lip, as long as the mesh spokes have the same curvature on both wheels. The problem I see here is that with the combined difference in width and offset, the face of the front wheels will sit about 1/2" further out than the rears... face of front wheels about 1/4" OUT from the edge of the fenders, face of rear wheels about 1/4" IN from the edge of the fenders; not a look I'm a fan of, but to each his own. You will also need a nice heavy stretch on the front tires (and probably rolled fenders) to clear your Hotchkis drop. Are these the same specs of the wheels that XBBOY had?

I think the 410's look much better. Regarding fitment: 20x8.5 +40 and 19x8.5 +40 will fit the same, you'll just have about 1/2" less sidewall height all the way around on the 20" diameter wheels.

Just got off the phone w/ michael and he says the rear lip is about twice as big as the front due to the way the rims are machined - so maybe this is the way to go? Never heard back from xbboy.

You can probably get away with 215/35-19 fronts and 245/35-19 rear tires. Might not need to roll fenders, but be prepared to do it if you end up rubbing. Also pick a good tire for stretching, like Federal SS-595.

Just got the rims in - going to get tires this weekend hopefully. My next question concerns size and brand of tires - on the second page of the hotchkis springs thread is jmaeda 777 his rims are 19x8.5 +35 & 19x9.5 +40 and he is lowered on df"s . The specs on my wheels are so close i was wondering would his tire size be a good starting point for me? Have a guy locally that will give me a deal on some toyo proxy 4's - Also with the tpms is there any reason all of them could not be put in the spare?

Well, your Hotchkis drop is about 1/4" less up front with wheels that stick out about 1/8" more, and your rear drop is about 1/4" more with wheels that sit in almost 1/4" more. jmaeda said that he hardly rubbed, but didn't mention if it was front or rear. His tire sizes are a good starting point if you get to try them out on a test drive to see if they rub after they are installed, because rubbing is a definite possibility. I've seen people rub with 19x8.5 +35 wheels and 235/35 tires up front on just a 1" NF drop so I'm surprised his rubbing wasn't worse on DF's. You may end up finding that you're better off with 225/35's up front, and 255/30's out back, but you'll never know until you try.

If you don't plan on swapping them over to the new wheels, this is the easy fix (no messing with the spare, you don't want a bunch of sensors rolling around inside if you ever need to use it).
