That's why you clearcoat them. To my knowledge, there aren't any aftermarket headlights, and The one company that started selling aftermarket tails stopped to to some issues with the tail lights.

Yeah I had these LEDs for a short period of time. Drivers side stopped working completely and bulbs burnt out quickly on passenger side. Thankfully TRD sparks gave me a full refund for the product.

I'm interested in applying the Vinyl Smoke to the tail lights. I'm not really sure if it is as easy as the vendor that sells the appliques say is.... "just some soap water spray and a heat gun or hair dryer"... Has anyone here done something like that ? Not the spray tint, I bought the night shades, but I'm a little hesitant to try that, as I just might *Muck up the whole thing and gotta buy a new set of tails coz I don't like how it'll look after I un-do the spray job.... Any input here would be much appreciated.

Bwhite, try the "ventshade" can of spray. I put three coats on my tails, and they look good. just painter tape off the sections you don't want coated (i covered the back-up lights so they remain bright, with LED bulbs in).
I'll take some pics this weekend at exposed. i'll try to show you what i did. it works very well.

From what I have heard their was a bad batch produced that did not seal properly allowing moisture to enter the housing and damage the electrical components.

Not sure what the obsession is with aftermarket tail lights - is it just to be different?
The xD has some of the nicest rear lamps I've seen in the recent import market. avoiding the ricey look, while still looking decent. They don't look cheap or chintzy like the versa, and don't have the played out Altezza look like the Subarus.
Other than the red plastic on the bucket (i don't know why it bothers me - but it does, every time I open the hatch lol) I think they're pretty nice. A nice light smoking with VHT is the most i would consider doing to them, personally.

No problems with the smoked tails...As long as they (light) are visible from 500 feet you are good...As far as the headlights I don't know...

TYC LED taillamp upgrades for XD discontinued
I called four different places that specializes in Scion and Toyota parts/accessories...but all to no avail. TYC ones were apparently getting bad reviews and problematic.
I went out and got those tower SMD LEDs in lieu, but I am not satisfied. They are not as bright as stock ones and they break easily. Reverse polarity issues can become a bit tricky.
