Default Auto Trans Fluid Change and Timing Belt Change

Sorry, these maybe stupid questions, but I'm a new owner and am not familar at all with the XD.

I looked through the sheduled maintenance book and it doesn't say anything about changing the auto trans fluid.

Also it doesn't say anything about changing the timing belt.

I assume the XD has a timing belt and some type of fluid in the automatic transmission. Anyone have the maintenance mileage for these or am I just way off base here?

No timing belt in the xD.

Auto tranny flush should not be an issue until at least 36K under normal use.

The motor in the XD is equiped with timing chain, no replacement interval as they rarley need to be replaced.

Your ATF is called 'World spec trans fluid' available only from Toyota, This never needs to be changed. It is also seriously expensive per quart.

Thanks for the ATF clarification, Scorpius. I was kinda running off my last auto Toyota ('03 Matrix), and even back then you didn't really have to bother flushing ATF for a while, I just did because of the supercharger.

Hi Zolitz! XD? Ill just have to get one of those too. Kinda like a Scion Matrix isn't it. I have been seriously thinking about selling my Jeep and getting one. TC is gone I got a Tundra... so I need something with better gas mileage. How do you like it so far?
