Injen CAI
#2
I have it coming tomorrow. I don't really know what you would want as far as a review. Injen usually makes a good product, a lot of gear heads know and like them. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. I ordered the black.

Alright got it and installed it. Fairly easy install, they tell you to remove the bumper cover to install properly. I didn't do that though I probably should have. After several minutes later and some non child friendly words, I got the filter in the bumper above the fake vent hole where it sits. Looks clean and fits nice although the vacuum line that runs to the intake could be longer. The intake came with pretty straight forward directions except it had nothing on how to remove the bumper cover. The MAF fit was tight like the hole was a millimeter too small, I don't know if the polished version would experience this, but I was able to shoe horn it in. Everything else was easy peasy. After driving it of coarse it is louder when giving it throttle from the lack of a resonator, but when you drive easy you can't hear it. As for power I can't tell if it pulls harder or if I'm just drunk off the sound. I don't see anyone being able to tell the difference with horse power gains under 15 hp with their butt. I'm happy with it. It doesn't seem to lose power, and sounds good. As for being carb legal, no, it has no indication of being carb legal. When I have time I'll probably remove the bumper cover and make sure everything sits the way it should. Hope that helps in anyway.

Hey here's an update. I removed my bumper to check placement, and took some pictures. On another thread someone was worried about sucking some water into their engine. You can see that this cai sits pretty high. If you manage to submerge this intake you'll have more to worry about than the motor.
The filter itself sits just above the fake vent hole, more toward the left of the hole, and the back of the filter is about even with the opening. I drove around with the vent cover off the bumper so some cooler air could reach the filter. It seemed a little stronger or smoother..... just better, but I covered it up until I can find a splash shield of sorts or make one. It probably would not get wet, but I won't bet my motor on it.
Finally, when I said earlier that the MAF was a tight fit. I was wrong! As you can see from the pic below I cracked the bottom lip of my MAF, before the o ring, wedging it in there. From my previous pics you can see the MAF sits off the intake ever so slightly. I took it out and dremelled around the placement on the intake, lubed it up, and now have a better fitment.
