sounds like u might have my problem, u just went under the car and took a wrench and bent out the heat shield at the top bend of the piping, it was rattling against it on my car, hasnt made a sound since. u will need a lil elbow grease the stretch the shield out too ;p

Yeah, i was just wondering how much better it sounded with an intake on it.
So what is this "special cone filter?" How much did it cost, how was the install?

oh its not actually special...its just a Spectre cone filter...im just saying "autozone special" cause its the cheapest option you have to go with (if you dont want to spend a bundle on any brand name cone filter)

install isn't hard, what's hard is finding a way to secure it since the stock piping will just droop and flop around. i zip tie mounted it at two places to keep it still.

sound is pretty nice...you can hear it whistling as you accel. and you gain a slightly deeper exhaust tone (not louder...if anything its a little quieter) but that was with the stock muffler....it might be SLIGHTLY deeper with an exhaust (but still, not louder, just..heavier if that makes sense)

you mainly gain engine sound...its more aggressive..throatier/louder. it's nice haha

the exhaust doen't sound different, the intake is making that sound. I remember SPort COmpact CAr magazine getting pulled over in their project Celica GTS cuz of that. Cop thought they had a r!cer muffler despite it was stock

not specific. its universal, but there's little sections you can put in that allow you to tighten it to your stock piping..

and yeah..like i said it doesn't sound different...definitely wont make it louder...funny story about the celica though rofl

theres a small hole at the top of the bumper that's easily visible, it's not really used for anything that I'm aware of (except maybe for a rubber damper to fit onto from the hood? but i never had any problems with it) and then i had to double zip tie it to the rod that helps to secure the battery down. I double zipped it becuase if you do one, it just slides up and down, but if you use two and pull em both as tight as you can, it makes it taught, and hold's in place. I'm sure there's a better place, so while you're zip tying it try and look for another place, but keep the battery one in mind if you cant find it.

and the zip ties connect to the holes where the bolt goes that connects the intake box to the piping (on the top of the box.) there's one hole on each side of the pipe so use that.

i hope i explained that well..im a little frazzled from school..if you have further questions PM me and i'll try and rephrase or something haha. hope it helped!
