Default Red Line MTL for better shifting

After determining that my xD has the most wonky manual transmission of any car I've owned, I decided to try some really high quality synthetic trans fluid. I bought two quarts of Red Line MTL and changed it out last night. The difference is night and day! The car goes into gear easier from a stop, up- and down-shifts into gears faster and with less effort, and rev-matching is much easier than before. It is easy to tell that my syncros are much happier now!

Of course, it has all the other benefits of the Red Line MTL fluid:

• Designed for manual transmissions and transaxles
• Perfect synchronizer coefficient of friction
• Enables high-speed downshifting
• Excellent shifting even when cold
• Eliminates gear whine and rattle at high temperatures
• High-performance gear protection
• Non-corrosive toward synchronizers
• Satisfies manual transmissions and transaxles requiring
motor oils, or GL-1, GL-3, or GL-4 gear oils

If anyone is interested, there is plenty more info on their website: http://www.redlineoil.com.

^^^ x2

I changed all fluids after 3,000 miles.

Redline MT90 for the transaxle
Amsoil 0w-30 for the engine
Motul RBF600 for the brakes

Worthy upgrade!

Did you have a specific reason for going with Mt-90 in your Yaris? Although the Yaris and xD appear to have the same manual trans, Toyota's spec is different for the two. They call for a GL-4 75w in the xD and a GL-4 or GL-5 75w90 in the Yaris.

According to that, the Yaris should take Red Line 75w90NS and the xD should take Red Line MTL. I don't know how much of a difference it would make, though.

Default filler and drain plugs for manual trans??

Hope you can help. It's time to put some redline MT-90 in the manual trans on my 2009 Xd. . I think I have found the drain and fill plugs. But I don't want to be pulling off nuts without being sure. Can you explain where you found the fill and drain plugs?
