Thanks for the torque specs.

I ended up taking it in because I was unable to remove the oil filter. My wrench just kept slipping off!

Yeah I'm gonna try that next time. The one I was using was labeled 65-67mm and I just couldn't get a good grip on the filter housing!

Did my first oil change tonight. Drained it out, and let it drip dry then filled it up with 5w20 royal purple synthetic. No problems getting anything apart, bought a 65mm end cap wrench from Advanced Autoparts for $4 and change. Only problem I had was getting the original metal gasket/washer off the drain plug. It sort of dry-welded on. I eventually grabbed it with a pair of channel locks and it popped right off.

...and why the heck didn't you just edit your post to include all this instead of making three separate posts? Odd. Thanks for the info though.

Because I was doing it from a phone, was faster to just make a new post, and besides that I felt like it whinebag

And to further help that vein pop out on your forehead, I also made a seperate thread about the cartridge filter itself Hope this does not destroy your perfect night *LOL*

Whinebag? Nah not at all. Being on a phone makes perfect sense. I do wish they made a mobile version of this site though, that'd be the ---- right there.

4. Trip A will go to zero and back to actual mileage after 5 seconds.

Thanks it worked like a charm. No more annoying maintenance required light. [/b]

Recently while changing my oil and filter late at night, I forgot I didn't have a tool to twist open the plastic filter cap, so I improvised and used a coilover wrench key. It took a few revolutions to loosen the cap for the first time, but it worked.

Used a 65 mm filter wrench from Advance Auto for the casing. Worked like a charm, though I spent a good bit of time bashing my knuckles against the oil pan trying to loosen the casing in a clockwise motion. Relatively painless once the gremlins of the oil change were worked out.

Wix filter is out... I ordered one from O'Reilly Auto Parts where I work now... I don't have the part number but it is a special order item.
