I took the upper part of my dash off, there is a write up on here about it somewhere. That is my suggestion.

very simple to do, killa...
without having to take apart the entire dash, i was able to run a wire through the main grommet behind the drivers side. i was able to access it from underneath the steering wheel. just remove the lower panel, only a couple of screws. with a flashlight take a glance up there with your head down in the floorboard. on either side of the wiring harness, you'll notice two small 'holes'...use a straightened out metal coat hanger to punch thru it and in to the engine bay.
from inside the engine, remove the battery, and the smaller cover from on top of the windshield wiper motor, it just pops out if i remember right.
all i did was feed that hanger thru with my wire electrical-taped to the end of it.

no need to dismantle my entire dash, and the feed took all of 10 minutes...

i ain't got no pics...sorry, but it's as easy as i said up above...if you remove that lower plastic piece under your steering column by your gas and brake pedals, shine a flashlight up there, and you'll spot the wiring harness coming thru the firewall...its a big rubber grommet...and on both sides of the grommet is two holes that you can poke a metal coat hanger thru

easy, bro!
