I use an adaptor from CableJive (cablejive.com) and have had no problem to date. I've used an iPhone 3Gs (OS 4.0), iPod Nano (OS 4.0) and iPod Touch (2nd Gen OS 4.0). Still have to control the music from the Apple device.

I have an '08 XD with the funky iPod connector instead of the USB. I currently have a 1st gen iTouch that I'm considering replacing with the 4th gen iTouch. It scares the hell outta me that the new $300 toy may not work with my car or mini-dock.

A little bit of reading on Apple's forums make it seem that the first release of the iOS4 was buggy with all docks/cars. Slow, not responding or only playing a couple of songs. The second release supposedly fixed it, as I didn't see much complaining past July '10. But I'm not 100% sure.

It looks like I'll need an overpriced dock converter and a hope and prayer that it'll not only charge, but also be able to change songs as well. As reviews are showing kinda hit & miss on the latter part.

I know the new iTouch isn't out yet, but it's built on the iPhone4's specs more or less. Has anyone paired an '08 with an OLED stereo to the iPhone4 with the most recent update??

That dock converter isn't too bad. You have to love apple for pulling what they did with the chargers. For anyone that didn't have the iPod connection in the car stock and are looking to add it, the Dice Electronics kits all support the new Apple chaging standards. I will look through my Scosche pricing list and see if I can get you guys a good deal on the adapters if you need them.

That looks like the one I have, which works fine now. I guess that update worked, my phone now plays without stopping.

I upgraded to the iPhone 4 last night and I can verify that the Scosche passPORT does not work with the iPhone 4. The first maybe 15 seconds of a song play then the sound fizzles out. The phone continues to charge. This is on an '09 xD with the stock radio using the dock type cable. If I dont use the passPORT I can use the iPhone 4 to play music. If I do use the passPORT I can charge the phone.

Blarg.

Has anyone found an adaptor that works with the iPhone 4 to charge and play music at the same time? I checked Scosche's site but they dont seem to have an updated adaptor to work with the iPhone 4.

On Apple's website, the passPORT does NOT list iPhone 4 as being compatible. I also see nothing listed for the iPhone 4 on Apple's website that would work. Maybe emailing Scosche and see what they know.

I don't have a xD, but do have the Scosche Passport that was linked on page 1. It does charge my iPhone 4 and am able to play music on my playlist fine, just get some interference. This is on the standard stereo deck with the dock connector on a 2009 tC.

Edit: I also play music off Rhapsody, but you'll have to change the track using the phone, you'll have to be on the app to switch songs though as doing it through the lock screen it's disabled. Switching songs using the steering wheel is specifically for tracks saved under iPod. If you happen to start playing music from the iPod by trying to switch tracks on the stereo or wheel, no problem, just press play on the song in the Rhapsody app and it'll continue.

I did email Scosche and they recommended I do a soft reset. Which makes sense come to think of it. I had just restored the phone from my data from my 3GS. Maybe it needs a restart. Or maybe I got one with a faulty connection port on the bottom. Tho it did play just fine on my alarm clock dock in my bed room. Will do a soft reset and try it in the car tomorrow and report back.

Did the soft reset with no change. Did a second soft reset on the phone and reseated (for the 3rd time) all connections. Now it works. Go figure. I'm just happy I don't have to buy a new adaptor!

Sefi, do you have any interference while playing music with it connected in the car? I might have to try the soft reset, I also had my phone restored from my 2G iPhone.

Interference as in static coming from the speakers? That annoying cell static you get sometimes when the cell phone gets too close to a speaker and its communing with its near by tower? Nope, none of that. Zilch. Nada. The music is pure and clean and clear coming from the speakers. Well except for the highly annoying front passenger side door squeak/rattle/buzz that most xD's seem to be prone to at decent volumes.

I use dockStubz from cablejive.com. They have a good lineup of other cables as well.

So my new Iphone 4s doesn't charge or play music in my Tc.

http://www.scosche.com/consumer-tech/product/1667

That adapter says it only charges it doesn't fix the music not playing.

What should i do? Does that adapter work?

I have that scosche adapter, and an iPhone 4 that I use with my scion nav unit. It does work, but I have to unplug and plug once or twice for the radio to recognize it. It would be nice if we could find out if there was a way to switch out the iPod interface kit to the USB plug the new ones have.

Or it would also be nice to just have an adapter from the ipod interface to USB that would be easy enough. My iphone is not syncing from my mac book right now im not sure why.
