its true it was pretty heavy but once i got it in place and got everything wired driving around and looking to see if the rear end was maybe squating a little and i just realy couldnt tell like it wasnt even there and not to mention when i open up the hatch everyone's eyes light up lol

it was 3/4" MDF. it did weigh more than the spare but seeing as I don't drive my car any kind of fast, I can't tell a difference. I never did weigh the enclosure so I have no idea really.

I will tell you one thing, that weight might help a little when you are speeding especially in the wind because we all know how the wind likes throwing our little XD's around lol

looks like you did a good job! one suggestion though is you need to move the fuse holder closer to the battery. it really needs to be within 12 inches of the battery. the way you have it, if something happens to the power wire, gets nicked, falls on something hot and melts, and grounds out the fuse under the console won't help. but if the fuse is closer to the battery and that happens the fuse will pop and save your car. the fuse is there to save your car from burning down, not your amp.

Thank you! There are 2 fuses, though I guess I didn't put a picture of both. One is right next to the battery (a 250amp) and the other is the one you see (the 100amp).
