Where did you run your power wire in your xD?
I am trying to find a good place to run 4 guage wire though the firewall of my xD. I usually run it through the main boot with all the other wires, but my hands can't manage to reach it from the interior or the engine compartment (there is that stupid plastic piece surrounding the wires that I can't get off). Is there any other place that works or is there a trick to getting it through the main grommet. My only other idea would be to run it through the passenger side. There seems to be lots of room but I don't like the idea of running all of that wire behind the engine.
Also, does the trim piece around the radio involve removing any screws to get off or do I just have to pull it off.
Thanks for the help.

I ran mine through the main grommet. Took the dash off, and poked a hole in it, then ran it through to the other side (also had to poke a hole on that side), and finally through the square "tube" where the other wires come out. It was a little tricky, and at first I tried to get it through the center of the grommet but it was not possible. I ripped the tape off, and there was double sided tape wrapped around it not allowing you to pull the wire through to the engine bay, or vice versa.
Taking dash off entails doing the following.
-take A-pillars off. Grab up against the headliner and pull away from the roof. It will pop, but once it pops once do not keep pulling. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and twist the yellow (or) white piece in there 90 degrees, to allow it to slip through the rectangular slot. Then, pull straight up from the dash.
-Next, take the glove box out. (Push in the center of it towards the engine, the two nubs will fit past the lower dash, and then disconnect the piece on the right side of the glove box.
-Waterfall, remove it! Pull around the edge up top. Make sure you're grabbing the waterfall and not the plastic trim piece between the dash and the waterfall. That trim piece comes off next. Once the top two clips on the waterfall pull out of the dash, slide your fingers down and pull on the lower part of the same piece of waterfall surrounding the radio. This should let you take the whole thing off. After it's free, disconnect the harness from the back of it.
-Next, take the radio out. Four screws total, then take out the two above the 4 screws holding the radio in. Take out the 4 harnesses out of the back of the radio, and the antenna connector. DO NOT MIX UP CLOCK PLUG AND RADIO PLUG. They will fit, where they are not supposed to. If you do happen to plug the wrong one into the radio, or vice versa, just open the fuse panel under the hood and replace the 15 amp (blue) fuse towards the front of the fuse box.
-Next, take a (I want to say 12mm, not 100% sure) socket and loosen the two bolts that hold the airbag to the tubing under the dash. It's not the Phillips head screws that you think it is, it's one bolt each per bracket holding the airbag to the tubing.
-Next, just work the dash up, starting at the corners near the doors.
Make sure your venting that goes from the two side vents to the back HVAC distribution box unclip ok.
I don't think I missed anything, but I'm not sure. Those two bolts are the trickiest part.

New to forums but wanted to add a couple details to this since I just ripped apart my dash for the same reason. after removing bolts for air bag, disconnect air bag elect. connector. just in case, disconnect battery when messing with airbag. also, pull gauge bezel out, disconnect 2ea connectors for the gauges behind bezel. be careful when pulling out wiper/wiper motor/wiper trim/wiper mount plate that you don't drop hardware down into engine bay. recommend mag parts tray(which i owned, but forgot to use at first) hope this helps. I had to tape my amp wire to a long screwdriver and force thru the rubber grommet to get it thru too.
