Default 2009 xd Pioneer avic f7010bt won't come on

I have a 2009 xd series release with Pioneer navi-system. This morning when I started my car, the navi-system lighted up, but after a few seconds went blank. I turned the engine off and restarted, same thing. I pushed the reset button which caused it to light up, but then goes blank after a few seconds. My fear is that it is the hard drive. I have had the car for 13 1/2 months and the warranty is for 12. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Consult your manual for the head unit and here's a ray of hope. Pioneer head units have a "Display Off" feature to extinguish the display if the user so chooses to so the cabin isn't brightly lit and distracting. Check to see if you accidentally activated this feature because thats what it sounds like. My AVHP3100DVD has that feature and what you describe is just like that feature.
